Chapter 36 Yellow Rank Class Four, Lin Xiu

"My teacher arranged for me to go out for a few days of training," Lin Xiu answered truthfully. He handed over the fish, then walked into the house, familiarly selecting Pills from the shelf where there was a display of Pills. Old Huo was unsurprised by this, "Who's your teacher?"

"Huo Lan," Lin Xiu replied. Elder Huo nodded. "If you can bring me one tomorrow at noon, I'll make an exception and let you choose a Second Grade Pill, but you mustn't tell anyone else about this," he said. 

"Don't worry, Elder Huo, I'm very tight-lipped," Lin Xiu made a zipping motion near his mouth. "Hmm, hurry up and make your choice," Elder Huo began ushering him out. Lin Xiu reached the door, just as someone stopped him. 

Looking up, he was surprised, "Principal." "Back already? Did you encounter anything?" Hu Gan asked with a smile. "No, Senior Du Chaoping is very professional; the places he took me were all safe," Lin Xiu hadn't expected to encounter Hu Gan here. 

"Lin Xiu, you haven't been to Principal Hu Gan's house yet, have you? Since you're here today, why don't you go and see?" Elder Huo gestured with the back of his hand holding the White Carp as he ushered Lin Xiu out the door.

However, Hu Gan grabbed the door panel and squeezed in directly. Before closing the door, he smiled at Lin Xiu, "Tomorrow at the lake, I'm going to test your progress in Thundering Palm cultivation." Without waiting for Lin Xiu's response, Hu Gan closed the door from the inside. 

He turned around, ignoring Elder Huo's grim face, and walked straight into the kitchen. "Have you not prepared the scallions, ginger, and garlic yet? I'll help you with that; don't worry, I won't freeload," Hu Gan said with a smile at the corner of his mouth. Elder Huo walked into the kitchen with a helpless expression.

"Test me? Should I take this opportunity to make a bet with the principal?" Walking on the road, Lin Xiu remembered the scene when he obtained Thundering Palm before. 

Hu Gan, as the Deputy Headmaster of the Academy's outer court was definitely a walking treasure trove. He thought about profiting from Hu Gan again.

"I don't want to help, and I'm not interested," Lin Xiu always avoided helping strangers, especially smiling ones. 

He attempted to sidestep past the three of them, but one of the young men took a diagonal step to block him.

"Junior, don't have such a bad temper. Jia Nan Academy is never short of capable people," the young man who spoke before maintained his smile. "Sometimes having a too aggressive personality can lead to trouble."

As they spoke, the young man reached out his finger, seemingly intending to tap Lin Xiu's chest a couple of times. Zzt zzt! Lin Xiu swiftly grabbed his hand, his Qi roaring within him as electric sparks erupted from his palm. 

After being shocked, the young man quickly withdrew his finger. The other two surrounded Lin Xiu, their faces darkening. They only stepped back when the shocked young man waved his hand. 

Facing the three of them, Lin Xiu's expression remained unchanged. "You have courage and boldness, junior, I admire that. Are you interested in joining our 'White Gang'?" the young man wiped his slightly darkened fingers on his chest. 

"Not interested," Lin Xiu glanced at the three of them. "You're quite brave!" the young man raised his thumb. "I won't beat around the bush. One White Carp for 100 Task Points, how about it?" 

'Fishing for them? 100 Task Points? Are they trying to dismiss me as a beggar? The elder gives 80 points, plus extra Pills as a bonus.'

Moreover, frequent interactions with the elder could potentially improve his impression of me. Lin Xiu directly refused, "I'm sorry, I'm not interested." 

Pushing past one of them, he walked away without looking back. The young man turned around, his face darkening. 

"Kid, once I find out who you are, you'll regret what happened today!" 

"No need to bother. Lin Xiu, Yellow Rank Class Four," Lin Xiu didn't even turn his head.
