D-DAY

TAEHYUNG'S POV:

After our encounter at the grave yard, I was worried about JK. Also I kept thinking about what I said to that fake JK. I was so annoyed right now. There were lots of well-known people at the KIMS Mansion. And then suddenly my eyes fell upon that someone, whom I was unknowingly waiting for...

Jungkook.

His doe-eyes captured my attention. But he was busy greeting people along with his parents. And as if he knew I was staring at him, he turned to me and smiled nodding his head at me. I did the same, but regained my senses when Jimin came and shook me.

"Taehyung.. What are you doing?" He asked and I felt heat rush to my cheeks making me flustered.

I looked at Jungkook with one eye and saw him laughing. He looked cute. I turned to Jimin while smiling but it didn't last long when I saw Jimin's disgusted face. I ran away from him as fast as I could. I went to my room. And my phone started ringing. I received the call, but no one spoke. I felt the silence comfortable and familiar. And only one person came to my mind.

"Tell me you're safe and fine, JK.." I said without any other thought.

"Taehyung.. I am fine, love. I am happy that there's atleast one person who worries about me." JK said very calmly.

"It's okay. You saved my life once and after what you've done for me, you're family to me now. Of course I will worry about you. That's what family is about. Isn't it?" I asked him and he replied with a small hum.

"What's with the noise around you? Are you out somewhere?" I asked him.

"Yes, I am out. Just a business meeting. I will be back tonight though." He replied to me.

"Alright. I'm relieved to hear that you're safe and sound. But Hobi and Suga, I.. They... I mean... Forget it. You're safe, that matters. It's almost time for the ceremony. I will have to hang up. Is that okay?" I asked him.

Wait! Why was I asking him if I could hang up? Was I really asking for his permission? God what's wrong with me?

"Yeah, that's fine. Taehyung, you remember what I told you last time, brush your hairs if you sense anything wrong. I have my man there. He knows you. He will make sure you're safe, even if he has to risk his life for it. He's the only one I could trust you with." JK said after a pause.

"I will. Take care and let me know when you're back." I said and was about to hung up when...

"Taehyung..." JK called my name and I was quick to reply.

"Yes, I'm here. Tell me."

"I.. (pause) Take care.." JK said and hung up. I just knew that wasn't what he wanted to say.

10 minutes later, I went down fully dressed, with a matte black suit that fitted accurately and a tie making me look like a model ready for a ramp-walk. I also wore a long jacket over the suit, which gave me a majestic look. Everybody started clapping as I entered. And I felt as if I was being watched. I pushed away that thought and went up on the podium.

"Hello everyone, I am KIM TAEHYUNG, and first of all I would like to thank all of you for making time and coming here. It means a lot to me. I know that all of you are my late father's most trusted ones. And I am thankful that you chose to be loyal even after his unfortunate death. Yesterday when I visited him, I told him that I was finally about to take over his empire. And trust me, I am young, but capable of carrying forward this empire. But for that I will need your continuous support and guidance as you did when my father was still alive. Thanks once again." I said and did a 90 degree bow to all present there. And I could see that all the eyes present there were wet with tears, they held respect, but it was for my father and I will try my best to earn it for myself.

"Okay, so now I call upon Ms. Yoona and Mr. KIM junior to come up and sign the handover documents." Joon uncle said and me and my aunt went up to the table.

My aunt first signed the documents and passed it over to me. I signed them and then handed them over to Joon uncle. There were total 5 documents. The KIMS Mansion papers, Arms and Ammunitions  Co. papers, KTH Fighter Jets Co. papers, KK Missiles Co. Papers, And the last one was named as The Dragon's Lair.. I didn't know what it meant, but I made a note of asking my aunt and uncle later.

"I hereby announce that the handover of the KIMS EMPIRE has been successfully done and now, Mr. Kim Taehyung is the whole and sole owner of all. Let's raise a toast to the success and flourishing of the KIMS Business.." Joon uncle said and everybody raised their glasses to me and I did the same.

After that I went down and greeted everybody present there. I was overwhelmed by the stories that they had to tell me while they worked with my Dad. And I couldn't be more proud to be his son alone. But even in the midst if all this I felt someone watching me. So I did what JK had told me. I brushed my hairs and excused myself and walked straight up to the terrace. I was waiting for the person to show up.

I suddenly remembered that JK said his man who was here knew me. Little did he tell me that I knew him too....
