The Two Essences of Sky People

When Seth opened his eyes, he saw a huge creature with four wings and the body of a lizard, as big as the largest whale he had ever seen.

Sensing that this creature might be malevolent, he jumped from the branch he was standing on and floated in the air toward the creature.

Of all the survivors of the Misty Woods Tribe, Seth was the only one who could fly!

As he moved through the air, he caught the eye of the winged creature, who was watching his group from a higher position, enjoying its aerial advantage.

But Seth wasn't the slow type to solve problems, and he got right to the point, not bothered by how the creature looked at him. To him, it was nothing more than an animal.

"Winged Lizard, change your flight path, and don't look back. Otherwise, we'll have a problem." He said in a determined tone.

The man near this area, who was fearfully looking at the people in Seth's group, heard this and felt a chill in his soul.

There was no fear or uncertainty in that voice!

But knowing that this magical beast was the ruler of this area, the man hiding in the forest continued to watch, knowing that he had to leave, but if he did, he might miss something memorable.

'Damn, I have to go, but that's Ozurru, Bringer of Death, ruler of Belletham Timberland!' He clenched his fists, trying to stop them from shaking as he felt fear but also excitement.

'I know Ozurru shouldn't stand a chance against a group with this formation. But I doubt it'll die easily!'

Hearing the confident tone of the little Sky People member in front of it, Ozurru narrowed its eyes and shouted in doubt. "What if I don't go? What will you do if the ruler of this area doesn't decide to leave its own territory?"

"Oh?" Seth narrowed his eyes, hearing the voice of a magical creature for the first time.

He knew that magical creatures could speak when they reached a certain level of maturity.

Their language was less complicated than Ihk's and was spoken by all magical creatures in this world, including those on the Giant Island.

Seth had copied the skill of one of the tribe's elders who could communicate with magical creatures, so he knew the language of magical creatures.

However, he had never heard a magical creature speak because, for some reason, the creatures on the island didn't communicate with the people of his tribe.

But Seth knew that magical creatures could understand almost any human language, whether it was the language of his tribe or that of Ihk's people.

He didn't understand it, but that was the way these creatures were!

When he heard the voice of a magical creature, he couldn't help but notice the strange way it spoke.

It didn't need to move its mouth to speak, and the sounds of its words came from inside its head. At the same time, the creature's accent was rather funny, and its words carried an aggressiveness that made Seth want to laugh.

Even if this creature seemed monstrous to many in this place, to Seth, it was nothing more than a pet, food, or a mount. Depending on his decision, one of those three things would be the winged creature's fate!

But knowing that this was an important moment of the day for his companions, Seth put aside his surprise and moved higher.

As he did so, he brought his hands together at chest level and slowly pulled them apart, creating a small vortex between his palms.

In the instant that followed, the surroundings of that area changed, and a strong wind arose, moving the clouds in the sky and completely changing the feeling that hung over those in the forest at that moment.

"Lizard barbecue. I've never tasted your kind of meat before, so today will be my first time."

As Seth said these words, the winds in the area intensified even more, and a huge vortex appeared above where that creature stood.

The wind there was so strong that some of the leaves flying in that direction were completely cut off when they reached a certain limit speed.

When the creature saw that the wind had become so strong that it seemed to be moving leaves instead of air, it despaired and felt that it had made a mistake in coming to this place.

The man hiding in a part of the forest did not hesitate any longer and began to flee in desperation, realizing that things were much worse than he had imagined.

Seth and his group didn't know it, but in this world, there were two characteristics behind people's strengths.

The first was internal power, and the second was innate ability.

Innate ability was the special power that Sky People possessed. In Seth's case, his ability was mimicry. As for internal strength, it was the spiritual and physical energy level a being had.

Unlike innate ability, which cannot be changed to other types, inner power can be stimulated and grow to the point where one can use new possibilities of one's ability.

For example, a person with a telekinetic power might be able to move a fork or mountain, depending on their internal power.

Of course, depending on the internal power, there were other variations of how this essence could be used.

Both the fleeing man and the magical creature suffering in the middle of Seth's violent peak had noticed that the people in this group were strong because of their meditation. But they hadn't realized how much inner power Seth really had, let alone how heavenly his innate ability was!

There were simpler abilities that would give an individual super strength, or flying ability, or even super speed. But there were also those more complex abilities that would make one extremely difficult to fight against.

Seth seemed to have not only a very strong internal power but also a heavenly ability capable of causing the disaster that these two were experiencing!

While one was running for his life, the other was suffering under Seth's wind blades, feeling its flesh cut in several places as it struggled to escape.

Unfortunately, the winds where it was standing were so strong that this creature didn't even move; it just stood there, suffering from Seth's many attacks.

Seth slowly clasped his hands together, shortening the creature's suffering.

'It's not nice to play with your food.' He remembered the First Elder's words, and immediately, several large chunks of flesh fell from where the dark green-scaled creature had stood moments before.

The winds over the area had died down a bit, but Seth's action had brought a storm, and several bolts of lightning had already appeared on the horizon.

Dax opened his eyes and sighed, seeing the consequences of the tribe's Third Elder ability being so easily recreated by Seth.

'Damn, Seth is probably going to reach the Spiritual Apogee!' Dax clenched his fists and stood up from where he was near the top of one of the trees in the area.

Dax jumped down from where he was and stopped next to Seth.

Sometime later, other group members left their meditation to join Dax and Seth, quickly clearing away the meat and building a large fire in the middle of the forest.

They would eat a good portion of the creature's body over the next hour until the group returned to the oath to the first city on their way, leaving only the bones of their meal behind.

By the end of the next day, they would see the silhouette of the largest urban area they had ever seen, reaching a crucial point in their journey!
