CHAPTER 50

''Oh my poor darling, that must have been the hardest thing to do,'' Helen looked just about ready to shed a tear but smiled at him instead, ''And yet, you still went there to show your love and support. You are such a good boy Daniel''

Daniel returned Helen's smile. He loved the way she showed him the kind of grandmotherly love that he never got to experience. Helen had looked less and less of herself with each passing week and it broke his heart to know that soon she would be with him no more.

''I suppose that it should have Helen. It really should have been the hardest thing in the world for me but,'' he sighed, ''it really wasn't. It was a little uncomfortable to watch but it did not break my heart the way that I thought it would have''
