Chapter 345: Want to Try Slaying a God?

Phoenix Power!

For over a year, I couldn't find you, couldn't track you down, and unexpectedly, you've appeared on Igneel Planet, mixing with this shameless celestial deity.

It's undeniable that Igneel is inherently selfish and destructively powerful, a perfect match for the destructive desires of the Phoenix Power.

Since you've fallen into my hands today, I might as well take care of you and my other concerns all at once—a truly dream come true!

However, the combination of Phoenix Power and Igneel Power complicates matters. It seems I'll need to exert extra effort this time!

Thinking this, overwhelming divine power erupts around Clark, transforming into a giant sword that slashes directly at the Phoenix avatar before him.

While Clark is entangled with Igneel, the Guardians of the Galaxy commence their rescue operation.

After resolving their misunderstandings, Gamora and Nebula instantly become close sisters. At Gamora's request, Nebula, wielding her Night Sky Sword, joins the Guardians in storming Igneel's palace, starting their "Rescue the Foolish Teammate" mission.

The rescue operation proceeds smoothly, thanks primarily to Clark drawing nearly all of Igneel's attention.

His head-on confrontation with Igneel, shaking the entire planet of Igneel, scatters the divine cage imprisoning Star-Lord, enabling the Guardians to safely extract their foolish teammate from peril.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

With continuous fire from his energy gun, Star-Lord blasts the regathering divine tendrils, angrily declaring, "I'm going to personally kill that bastard; he killed my mother!"

"Calm down, you idiot!" Gamora scolds him without mercy, "You're in no position to join that fight. Do you want to get us all killed?"

Star-Lord persists, "You can leave now. I must avenge my mother, and no one can stop me!"

"Bang!"

With a crisp sound, the hate-blinded Star-Lord collapses to the ground.

As Star-Lord's large body falls, a striking woman appears, her hand still posed as a chop—the very person who knocked out Star-Lord.

Although often underappreciated, Star-Lord is incredibly strong, possessing power, speed, and stamina that surpass physical limits. Only Daisy Johnson, the second seed player, could effortlessly knock out such a person besides Clark himself.

Daisy slowly retracts her hand, instructing the Guardians, "Quickly take this troublemaker and leave; Rocket will cover your escape. This battle is not for you to join."

As they talk, dozens more divine tendrils rise from the ground, sweeping toward them from various angles.

Igneel, capable of harnessing a whole planet's divine power, lacks precise control over it due to its vastness—a natural trait. If he could refine his power, even Daisy would struggle to cope.

However, the real situation is that he cannot further refine his divine power, and his main focus is on the Phoenix avatar battling Clark.

This results in insufficient mental energy to control his attacking power effectively, severely mismatching his celestial stature.

Facing the onslaught from all sides, Daisy scoffs, "I didn't realize Igneel was such a tentacle monster, no wonder his private life is even messier than Clark's."

Whether critiquing Igneel or Clark, Daisy's actions are prompt. With a sweep of shockwave power, she disperses all visible divine tendrils!

Feeling the surroundings calm only to turn violent again, Daisy looks solemn and urges her companions, "I can't look out for you in the upcoming fight. Nebula, take them and leave now, quickly!"

After speaking, Daisy's hands again conjure shockwave power, launching a barrage against the re-encroaching divine tendrils from all directions.

Star-Lord is key to Igneel's plans of expansion, and he certainly wouldn't just watch him be rescued without retaliation. The frenzied energy sweeping from all directions maximizes firepower directed at the Guardians without impairing the Phoenix avatar's combat effectiveness.

Yet it is in vain!

Against such insubstantial attacks, Daisy needs only a single shockwave to clear large areas; the seemingly omnipresent divine tendrils cannot impede their progress. Moments later, a blue energy shield from the Heart of Clark descends, enveloping the Guardians and whisking them into the ship.

Only Daisy remains on the ground, facing the overwhelming divine tendrils, her eyes blazing with relentless fighting spirit.

Aboard the ship, Gamora urgently speaks to Rocket, who is controlling the ship, "Rocket, hurry and bring that girl Daisy aboard. She can't withstand Igneel's attack alone."

"No!" Nebula steps forward, pointing at the unconscious Star-Lord, "Clark's orders were to leave this planet immediately after rescuing the fool."

Rocket, unconcerned,

counters, "Why must we always listen to him? We can't sit out the fight!"

Drax nods, "Rocket's right. They saved us, and we can't abandon them now!"

With Drax's words, everyone is startled.

In the Guardians of the Galaxy, Drax often goes unnoticed until he speaks up, his presence suddenly as conspicuous as if he had been invisible before.

Nebula insists, "You're only adding to the chaos!"

Drax retorts, "Shut up, you heartless creature!"

Indeed, the Guardians might be somewhat comedic and even burdensome, but each one is staunchly loyal.

They might risk their teammates with foolish actions, but they never betray them.

"Oh, damn it!"

Rocket curses as the Heart of Clark blasts off at full power, seizing a moment when Daisy scatters the entangling divine tendrils to burst out of Igneel's atmosphere and head into the distance without pausing.

Gamora asks, "Rocket, what are you doing?"

Rocket, frustrated, responds, "It's not me; the ship has disabled the manual controls. I can't steer it!"

The ship entering autopilot mode indicates that only Clark could have overridden the system. Before their arrival, he had mentioned the formidable nature of the enemy and his wish to avoid endangering his ship. As for himself and Daisy? Their abilities meant they didn't need anyone else to worry about them.

Though reluctant and silenced by the situation, the crew can only look towards the receding Igneel, silently wishing Clark and Daisy good luck.

...

On Igneel, Clark faces off against the Phoenix avatar, somewhat daunted despite his multiversal strength.

Even though he can usually counter the Phoenix Power by drawing out the battle, exploiting home-field advantage to endure significant self-damage and gradually exhaust the limited Phoenix Power, the situation now is different. The Phoenix Power is controlled by Igneel, and Igneel's planet is the home field.

In a contest of power consumption, Igneel does not fear Clark. Under Igneel's protection, the Phoenix needs only to attack forcefully, unconcerned about Clark pulling any tricks.

Thankfully, the Phoenix Power, although potent, is not inherently Igneel's and cannot fully integrate with his divine power. Otherwise, Clark might have had to choose a strategic retreat.

Realizing that neither attrition nor direct assault would likely defeat the Phoenix avatar, Clark is internally grateful for bringing Daisy along.

This decision now seems exceedingly wise!

With a thought, the Healing Sword instantly transforms into a beam of light heading towards Daisy's position, slicing through Igneel's divine tendrils in its path.

Simultaneously, Clark's voice suddenly whispers in Daisy's ear, "Daisy, fancy trying your hand at slaying a god?"
