Chapter 282: The Treacherous High Celestial, Betrayal!

Seeing Ares switch weapons and tactics, Clark also refused to be outdone. With a flick of his wrist, the "Miracle Cure" transformed instantly from a sword into a twelve-foot-long spear.

The spear exploded into myriad images, each thrust leaving a fine crack in the air and emitting a sharp hissing sound.

Clark, shrouded in the myriad spear images, charged towards Ares, who wielded a sword and shield. Using the advantage of his weapon, he forced the Greek God into retreat.

Unable to gain the upper hand, Ares suddenly hurled both his shield and sword at Clark, then swiftly grabbed a whip made from some unknown beast's tendon and skin flying nearby. The whip cracked, forming concentric circles and enveloping Clark's spear images.

Clark's eyes lit up at this challenge, adapting his technique to engage Ares once more.

The Miracle Cure, first a glint of cold light, then lashing out like a dragon, was met by Ares's whip, which moved like a serpent, seemingly countering Clark's spear technique.

After more than ten exchanges, the Miracle Cure in Clark's hand morphed again. Its parts shifted, and the spear's tip sprouted a pair of wings, each adorned with barbs. It had transformed into a majestic, winged, golden-hilted spear, whistling through the air with every swing.

With the spear in hand, Clark's originally intricate moves became more direct and forceful. Though rougher than before, his 'roughness' perfectly countered Ares's 'finesse.'

In just three moves, Clark used the barbs of the golden spear to catch Ares's whip and yanked it fiercely.

With a ripping sound, Ares's whip was torn apart!

Despite his disadvantage, Ares remained composed. Almost simultaneously as his whip was destroyed, he grabbed a massive war hammer, launching a new attack on Clark.

One fighter controlled a myriad of weapons for wide-ranging strikes, using any weapon at hand with incredible power, turning decay into magic. Worthy of the title 'God of War.'

The other, with the Miracle Cure, adapted ceaselessly to any weapon, countering with tailor-made transformations.

Clark relished the fight more and more, never having encountered such a skilled close-combat opponent, evenly matched in strength and style, capable of myriad changing attacks.

A rare and formidable opponent indeed!

Clark found his opponent remarkable, and Ares felt similarly.

Since falling into the High Celestial's grasp and losing his freedom, Ares had never felt this sense of worthwhile struggle.

The two fought for over an hour, sometimes with Clark gaining a half-step advantage, sometimes Ares gaining the upper hand. However, this fluctuation was not absolute, as a single weapon switch could reverse the tide.

The battle was fraught with peril and tension!

In the heat of the battle, the High Celestial's voice suddenly boomed over the loudspeakers: "God of War Ares, stop playing with him. Use all your power and quickly defeat your opponent!"

Ares frowned at the command, disliking interference in his battles. However, bound by a neural toxin shock device implanted by the High Celestial, he had no choice but to comply.

With a sigh, Ares leaped out of the ring, floating in mid-air. The weapons under his control heated up rapidly, melting into pools of molten metal and then forming a massive hammer and shield, each larger than the Hulk in his transformed state, and slammed towards Clark with a gust of wind.

Clark, previously enjoying the genuine combat, lost interest at this sudden change in style. This wasn't the type of battle he enjoyed – brute force and flashy moves?

He sighed regretfully at the lost opportunity for a close combat thrill. The Miracle Cure transformed back into a sword, and the Power Stone on its spine lit up. Two purple sword energies sliced through the air, cutting Ares's newly formed massive weapons.

Smooth as slicing vegetables!

The energy from the stones not only cut but also disintegrated Ares's weapons, leaving him weaponless.

In his moment of shock, Clark stepped forward, and with a flash of the Space Stone, appeared behind Ares. The Miracle Cure, now a short stick, swung at Ares's neck.

Ares, startled by Clark's sudden surge of power, instinctively wanted to dodge but found the attack intriguingly precise.

He forcibly suppressed his instinct to evade, taking the hit squarely.

With a thud, Ares was knocked to the ground, twitching before losing consciousness.

The arena erupted again, this time with cheers for Clark.

Politely waving to the audience, Clark returned to the High Celestial's box, getting straight to the point: "I've won the battle. Will you now fulfill your promise and release my nephew Thor?"

"Of course," the High Celestial said, handing Clark a golden belt prepared for the champion, symbolizing glory.

Clark had little interest in such trinkets but, considering Thor's release, accepted it graciously.

However, the moment he fastened the belt, he felt a sharp pain at his waist. His gaze towards the High Celestial turned ice-cold: "You tricked me!"

With a sly smile, the High Celestial pressed a remote, similar to the one used on the Horse-Faced Thunder God.

Clark's body convulsed and he collapsed.

Looking at the now incapacitated Clark, the High Celestial gloated: "You thought I would honor our bet? Ridiculous! Now, not only are you my trophy, but the artifacts on you with two Infinity Stones are mine too. Hahaha…"

As he reached for the Miracle Cure, Clark suddenly turned into a mirage and vanished, leaving behind only the golden belt, which clinked onto the floor.

The High Celestial suddenly felt enveloped in a chilling murderous intent. The door to the box was violently kicked open, and Clark strode in, coldly mocking: "High Celestial, I played by your rules to save my nephew Thor, but you dishonored them. Attacking me? You're not worthy!"

In a flash, Clark's boot met the High Celestial's face.

With a loud thud, the High Celestial's face grotesquely distorted, and he was flung backward, crashing through the solid glass window and landing hard in the arena, half-buried in the ground, his rear end comically sticking up.

"Alarm! The High Celestial is under attack! Counterattack now!"

The Sakar defense system responded swiftly. Just as Clark plunged the High Celestial's head into the ground, his troops reacted.

Their Sakarian fighter jets, armed with formidable technology, posed a slight threat even to a Sub-Heavenly Father like Clark.

This showed the planet's advanced and powerful black technology, only nuclear bombs on Earth could pose a similar threat to Clark.

Clark coldly surveyed his surroundings, the Miracle Cure now a stick, the Power Stone radiating purple light. He raised it high, declaring coldly: "Judgment is set! I'll be merciful and send you to meet a supreme beauty named—Death!"

With a wave, the stick unleashed the Power Stone's destructive energy, annihilating an entire Sakarian fleet.

Meanwhile, the High Celestial, his face smeared with dirt, extricated his head from the ground. He watched in horror as Clark effortlessly annihilated his prized fleet.

Swallowing hard, the High Celestial didn't dare utter a threat, turning to flee.

Too fearsome, too terrifying!
