Extinction of Owls

"Iceheart," Edward said while standing next to Lucas's body lying on the ground with a frozen hole in his chest, preventing regeneration.

In Edward's right hand was Lucas's frozen heart, encircled by seven blue mana ribbons with white runes.

In the corner of his eye, he could see the sky returning to its blue hue as the eye above the capital split in half and disappeared.

"All set," Edward began, tossing the heart a few inches up and looking to his side to see his shadow. He asked, "How are things there, Nistar?"

Quickly, Nistar's head emerged from the shadow, now fully out, and she said, "The teachers and the girls took care of all the doppelgangers; it seems they all entered through a breach for a few seconds when a rift appeared on the ground."

"Oh, so they really invaded the academy this time?" Edward said, then thought with a smile, 'Surely the world helped them... because that barrier really needs to be rebuilt.'
