Different This Time*

Mother Rui found herself distracted all day, her mind full of messy things. Even then, she meticulously tended to her work on the field before trekking her way home in the evening, just in time to prepare a light dinner for Rui Ye who was still recovering from a cold. 

"You are not allowed to run around again until you recover, do you hear me?" Mother Rui cautioned, her brows furrowing in concern. 

Across the table, Rui Ye shoved a spoonful of porridge into his mouth and nodded meekly before sniffling hard, his nose still runny. He knew that he was in the wrong, so he obediently admitted his mistake this time. However, he didn't regret catching a cold at all. The storm had been raging for too long and he had not had the chance to 'greet' his friend for a while. Of course, he couldn't hold back his excitement to venture out at the first chance he got. He was dying to play with Xiao Bai!
