"Oh, you're here."
Hearing the familiar voice, Leslie looked up from the novel she was reading. The chilly breeze gently tousled her long hair. Her eyes landed on Calix's smiling face.
Seemed like he had just returned from the backyard. Leslie didn't notice when the family stopped playing. She was too engrossed in her reading.
"You had fun, didn't you?" Leslie chuckled, pointing toward the backyard, "I saw you playing there. Hehe, it looked fun."
"Mia wanted to play catch ball so, we just did," Calix replied while shrugging, one of his hands deep into his cargo pants pocket, "She fell asleep once my brother carried her after playing."
Stepping out to the balcony, Calix's figure was illuminated by the lights hanging above. He slowly approached Leslie. She was sitting on the double-seat rattan swing chair, holding a book on her lap.
