The memory of Chi Chengxin [1]

Sauntering towards the middle of the clearing, Chi Cheng was embraced by a wave of nostalgia. He denoted the rich brown barks of the trees were still unchanged as he remembered them from the visions the dark spirit fed him.

The clearing was surrounded by yellowed and green shrubs, the earthen grounds covered by patches of grass and weeds. Soft gales blew from above, carrying the sound of oceanic waves with their light rustling.

The flourishing scenery triggered a sharp sting in his mind as brief images flashed through his memories of the day fate unravelled in the Zephyr Forest.

Accompanied by Zou Jiayi, Chi Cheng knelt in the middle of the clearing where the spring sun's rays filtered through the leaves of the trees.

Closing his eyes, he placed a hand on the ground to concentrate while Zou Jiayi leaned against one of the trees. The melodies of gentle breezes filled his ears, carrying whispers of the memories buried in his mind.
