Alaric proposed a theory at a series of academic lectures, suggesting that transfiguration magic should be independent of the school of transformation spells.

Even in that world, transfiguration magic belongs to a category of spells independent of incantations, so it's reasonable to consider it an independent magical school in Azeroth (the main stage of the World of Warcraft universe).

Even the common people of Dalaran found themselves debating whether transfiguration magic could exist independently of the school of transformation, leading to futile arguments.

In short, Alaric became a popular figure in Dalaran, and everyone wanted to meet him. 

Within two or three days, he received countless invitations to parties, and people would greet him on the streets. Many magic apprentices sought him out, hoping to become his students.

He couldn't even focus on reading in the library of the Violet Citadel, which was supposed to be a quiet study area. 

Instead, a steady stream of mages tried to strike up conversations with him, forcing him to interrupt his year-long study in this place.

However, all of this was necessary for him.

The reason he shared his transfiguration magic with everyone was to quickly elevate his status.

Only by doing so could he better grasp the magic of this world and acquire more powerful knowledge and strength. 

Although the library in the Violet Citadel, as the center of power and scholarship in Dalaran, is mostly a public facility, it isn't a place where just anyone can browse freely.

As a mage, Alaric was originally limited to studying only the most basic magical theories and some popular books. 

More advanced and specialized knowledge required higher permissions—perhaps through contributions to Dalaran, permission from those of higher status, or through knowledge exchange.

Thus, Alaric spent a year immersed in the library, mastering the foundational theories of arcane magic and learning the most common spells, ensuring he wouldn't be embarrassed when facing the mages of this world.

Then, he began to implement his plan for gaining prestige.

In Dalaran, what could attract more attention than a new magical theory?

The magic he mastered from another world perfectly fulfilled this requirement.

So, to maximize the value of his knowledge, he spent time integrating the transfiguration from the Harry Potter universe with Azeroth's transformation spells, ultimately launching a new magical school—the Tenth School of Transfiguration, distinct from the original Nine Schools of Arcane Magic.

In fact, compared to arcane magic, the spells from the Harry Potter world, though lacking in power and offensive capabilities, appeared much simpler and more convenient in many aspects.

Unfortunately, these spells are too miscellaneous relative to the Nine Schools of Arcane Magic. According to the original history, there were still four years until the orcs would decisively defeat the human kingdom of Stormwind in the Eastern Kingdoms (the name of the continent) and invade the continent of Lordaeron, alerting the human nations to this grave crisis.

As the saying goes, heroes emerge in chaotic times; only during turmoil can everything be reshuffled, and it is also the moment for Alaric to seize sufficient benefits in this world. 

Just like in the Harry Potter universe, Alaric believed that to gain the knowledge and power he desired in Azeroth, the best method was not to actively seek it out but to establish his own influence and power.

After all, collecting information and establishing research is far easier for an organization, or even a nation, than for an individual.

In the Harry Potter world, he had already tasted this sweetness—after becoming the savior, he effortlessly acquired hundreds of years' worth of research from the Ministry of Magic, perused libraries worldwide, and successfully established the Magical Codex.

In truth, arriving in this era was not Alaric's original intent.

He hadn't wanted to come to Azeroth during this period because once the year of the Dark Portal began, countless troubles would follow in rapid succession on this poor planet.

First, the invasion of alien races, then the resurgence of old gods, followed by the Scourge, demon invasions, internal conflicts among the guardians of the planet, conflicts among time guardians, wars between mortal races, invasions by alien races from another timeline, another demon invasion, the rise of old gods, and yet another world war...

If all this were to happen on Earth, ten Earths would be destroyed.

Even in the robust world of Azeroth, facing these innumerable disasters, it could be considered on the brink of collapse, teetering on the edge of extinction.

If possible, Alaric would never want to step into this chaotic era so soon.
