Unrequited Feelings

There was a fight between Amanda and the man, unlike the other guards, this man was so tough that Amanda was almost cornered.

However, Amanda tried to immobilize the man. She pulled back her stun to render the man helpless, unfortunately the stun was sent flying in the other direction leaving Amanda with no choice but to fight him with her bare hands.

She attacked every vital point of her opponent, but it wasn't easy. Amanda knew that this man was well trained to fight at times like this.

Amanda didn't know how long she had been fighting with this man, her energy was already depleted from the previous fight. But Amanda could not just give up, even if she lost the serum, she would also be killed. This man was very serious.

"Enough playing around, it's time to get serious," the man took out a knife from under his shirt.

"Serious mode? Then the previous one, what, playing around?" Amanda was suddenly forced to dodge as the knife almost hit her.

'He's not playing around. His movements are faster than before. At this rate I might get hit by him.' Amanda thought.

She was breathing heavily as she tried to dodge every attack that came her way. Amanda wanted to snatch the knife out of her enemy's hand, she tried many ways but she failed.

Instead, the knife hit her arm, tearing through her duty clothes and cutting her deeply.

"Ukhh--" Blood flowed from her arm. Amanda took her handkerchief and tied it to the wound she had.

"Heh, you finally got it. I'm going to stab you in the heart after this!"

Squinting her eyes, Amanda looked for another way to defeat the man and get out of there. She also saw a monitor that she could use as a weapon, without thinking Amanda took the monitor by force and smashed it on the man's head.

"Take this!"

Because the monitor was smashed into his head, the man momentarily lost his focus. Amanda used the opportunity to grab the knife that was in the man's hand.

"Tch, you slut woman!"

"Heh, say that again, I'll rip your chest off..." Now the tables were turned, Amanda attacked her opponent with the knife.

Thinking she had managed to open an opening for her to escape, the man deliberately aimed Amanda at his stun gun. He took the stun gun and shocked Amanda's waist.

"Aakkkhh!!!" Amanda fell limp after being shocked so hard.

The knife in her hand slipped out and it was held by the man. The man smiled triumphantly and intended to plunge the knife into Amanda's head.

"This is what you get for daring to fight me!"

Amanda's eyes widened as she realized her current situation. She would soon die if she didn't move from there. But she could not move her body at all. When the knife was about to hit her, Amanda could only close her eyes.

THUD!

Suddenly, the man's head was hit so hard from behind that he fell to the ground. Amanda's partner could be seen holding a large metal tube.

"And that for hurting my partner," he said, throwing the object in his hand and approaching Amanda. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm very weak. But don't worry, the serum is safe." Amanda replied.

"Good then." William lifted Amanda's body and then took both of Amanda's weapons and carried her out of the building.

"How did you know I was in trouble?"

"I saw your gps spinning in the same spot. In fact, you had been there for almost 20 minutes. That's why I decided to catch up with you."

Amanda felt so relieved that William came to help her, she leaned her head against William's shoulder and buried her face into the man's neck.

William who saw that tried to calm Amanda down. Although Amanda looked brave, she was quite scared when she was in such a situation.

"It's okay... It's all done. Our mission this time was successful, you did well." William said kissed her forehead.

The pain of not being able to get the love she expected from William. He cared for her so much, but couldn't he love Amanda as much as she loved him?

'Can't you... You love me like I love you? If not... Don't give me hope to continue loving you. Don't give me... This feeling of being loved..' Amanda's eyes were closed, holding back the tears that were about to flow from her eyes.

When they arrived at the base, William treated the wound on Amanda's arm. He wrapped a bandage around Amanda's wound that he had given medicine to.

"Alright, I've treated your wound. Does it still hurt?"

"A little, thank you Willy.." Amanda said with a faint smile.

"Good. After this we have to report to our superiors about our mission this time and our success in getting the serum." William's hand gently rubbed Amanda's head then moved from there back to his chair.

"I'm hungry, maybe we can order some food. Do you want anything? I'll order," he continued to ask.

However, there was no answer from Amanda. She was silent with her eyes downcast and blank. As if lost in her own thoughts.

"Hello... Amanda!" called William.

"Huh? Yes? You called me?"

The man sighed and asked if Amanda wanted to order anything. Amanda paused for a moment and replied that she wanted potato salad instead.

"What's wrong with you? You were daydreaming earlier."

"Daydreaming? No, I'm fine. No need to think about it..." Amanda replied and stood up from her seat. "I have to go to the toilet."

She entered the restroom in the room and locked the door. Amanda stood in front of the sink with a mirror mounted on the wall. She unbuttoned her shirt and saw the kiss marks on her chest, the kiss marks William had left that night were still clearly there.

'What was I thinking... I should have known that no matter what, William wouldn't return my feelings. Why do I keep thinking about this..'

Amanda straightened her clothes and washed her face with water. Her feelings for William were getting stronger and stronger, she couldn't help but feel pain every time he gave her the attention she was expecting.

Not wanting to continue thinking about this, Amanda made the decision to change her coworker. She had been thinking about this for a long time, she wanted to get away from William. If she worked with someone else, she wouldn't have to see him all the time.

She would also have a reason to reject William when they would meet. The best decision she had so far.

Only, her little heart could never do that. She felt like she couldn't be away from William. She didn't want to be away from the man she loved. Maybe William would easily forget her because he prefers his work, but what about her?

Tears flowed from Amanda's blue eyes. She covered her mouth with both hands so William wouldn't hear her crying. She slowly sat on the floor and cried for her unrequited feelings.
