Punishment (2)

When Hazel exited the room, she wasn't surprised to see Tobias outside, leaning on the wall. The way his eyes widened and he rushed to her was all she needed to know that he was here for her. What made him look so distressed? What was he expecting the queen to do that he looked so panicked?

"Why did she send Jasmine and keep you in there? Why do you look so sad?" Tobias asked, concerned about how all life seemed to have been sucked out of her.

"I am not sad. I am happy. Can't you tell?" Hazel replied, forcing a smile. She didn't know why she was trying to pretend like there wasn't a lot on her mind now to not worry the prince. This had everything to do with her and nothing with him.

Tobias should have gone about his day and not been standing before her.

"Hazel, I am not a fool. What did she say? Better yet," Tobias said, walking around Hazel to hear it from his mother.
