SHUDDER

"Come again next time!", the girl behind the counter said as she flashed a smile to the departing customer.

After said customer left, she sat down on the chair behind her and picked up her phone, aimlessly scrolling through social media.

"Well, anything interesting?" a male voice rang out.

The girl turned and smiled. "Josh, when did you get here?"

"A while ago," Josh said as he walked towards her and bent to glance at her phone. "Ah. Seems like that asteroid finally hit."

"Really?" the girl said and turned back to her phone. "Whoa! Would you look at that, it crashed into the North Atlantic. Anyway why are you-" she was cut off as her body involuntarily shuddered. It felt as if something had just moved through her.

She suddenly felt a pang in her heart and a second later her body exploded with pain. She felt as if her very flesh was burning and being cut apart at the same time. She was in so much pain that she didn't even realize she had been screaming

"Ashley. Ash is-" Josh broke off in a fit of coughs before he could finish speaking. Ashley turned to him to ask for help, but what she saw shocked her. Josh was bent over and coughing blood in his hand, some of which stained his white shirt. His body shook as if he was in some sort of agonizing pain

Panting heavily, he looked back at her with worry-filled eyes. "Ash are you okay?" he asked before he lost consciousness and crashed into the ground.

"Someone help." Ashley squeezed out before she too blacked out.

In a Lamborghini moving at 90 mph and rising, two boys sat, one shrieking in fear whilst the other was calm with a smirk on his face.

"Dylan slow down!"

"Dylan turn. Turn!"

"Dylan stop the car. I want to get off!" the last statement was accompanied by sobs.

"Oh shut up. You'll be fine." Dylan, the boy driving, said as he drifted. Which must have terrified the pedestrians because they screamed with his friend, Thomas.

Thomas placed his hand over his mouth and gaged. "Dylan stop the car I feel like puking."

"Sure. Sure" Dylan responded and continued driving.

It wasn't until Thomas bent over and gagged some more that Dylan glanced at him for a second before turning his eyes back onto the road.

"Wait you're serious?!" Dylan yelled. "Tom, I swear if you dare do it, it will be the end of our friendship"

"Stop the car." Thomas groaned weakly.

"Just hold on for a bit. I can't stop here" Dylan said back.

Dylan stepped on the accelerator as he sped down the road. He felt his mind go blank for a moment as his body shuddered.

His body jerked when the pain came a second later. His mind was muddled from the pain. How could something hurt this much? Yet even in his muddled state, he could still process the fact that Tom just barfed in his new Lamborghini. Fuck!

The spasms of pain pushed that thought back.

"Dylan, stop the car," Tom mumbled weakly before he began coughing. He too was in pain. He lifted his head slowly to see his friend leaning on the wheel face down as the car was still moving at 100 mph.

"Dylan stop!" he yelled. A second last the car screeched to a halt, causing his head to crash into the dashboard, effectively knocking him out.

Dylan's head slammed on the steering wheel. He felt his consciousness fading but he still managed to turn off the ignition before he fully lost consciousness.

A girl was climbing up the staircase slowly. She furrowed her brows in discomfort as she pushed herself to climb the remaining steps.

She hadn't eaten the whole day and was facing the consequences. Her body felt weak like it was made of jelly. She felt dizzy and nauseous and her eyes seemed to distort the colors she saw.

She fumbled with her keys before opening the door. She entered the room and locked the door behind her before stumbling to her bed and collapsing on it.

She curled into a ball on the bed and felt the discomfort in her head slowly ease up. Her body felt so weak and uncomfortable that she didn't even realize it when she shuddered.

She gasped in shock when pain suddenly rocked her body. This had never happened before. Nausea, dizziness, weakness, and color distortion were regular symptoms that showed up when she did not eat. The pain was entirely new.

She groaned into the pillow as her body convulsed in pain. She reached for her phone. She had to call for help. She dialed her mother's contact and watched the phone ring but when the call was finally answered she had already passed out.
