Captured

Sheby woke up with excruciating pain all over her body. She could feel numbness in her leg, as if it had been deprived of blood flow. Her body was immobilized by the intense pain she experienced. Trying to open her eyes, she could only see complete darkness.

It wasn't until she blinked that she realized a cloth had been used to cover her eyes. She also felt her hands and legs were tied. Panic surged through her, and realization slowly began to seep in.

What has happened?

She tried to remember the event that had unfolded, but her head was throbbing hard, making it difficult to piece together all the details. Still, she kept trying to remember.

"What has happened?" she asked herself again.

The priest... there had been an altercation with the priest and Abike. She attempted to spring to her feet and say something, but her mouth was also tied shut.

Was Abike here too? How was she faring? What would the priest do to them?
