Chapter 73: Chaos

My demonic power surged as I faced Baron, the wielder of air magic. The battlefield crackled with energy as our clash began, creating shockwaves that echoed through the air.

Baron conjured razor sharp air blades, and I, agile and relentless in my demon form, dodged and countered with devastating strikes. "Is that the best you've got, Baron? I expected more from someone with a such 'godly' powers." I taunted, a wicked grin spreading across my face as I emphasized my last words.

The air around us became charged with intensity as Baron retaliated, creating a cyclone of swirling winds. I deftly navigated the tempest, locking my purple black eyes onto my opponent striking fear into his being. "You'll need a lot more than wind to defeat the Dragon Sin of Wrath." I declared, landing a powerful blow that sent Baron skidding backward.

As the battle raged on, I unleashed hellish flames, engulfing the air blades in a demonic inferno. Baron, undeterred, manipulated the very air to extinguish the flames. "Nice try, Meliodas, but my air magic is beyond your demonic tricks." Baron scoffed, conjuring a barrage of air projectiles.

I chuckled, my laughter echoing across the battlefield. "You talk a big game, Baron, but let's see if your wind can withstand the fury of my wrath!" With a surge of power, I unleashed a torrent of dark energy, shattering the air blades and pushing Baron to his limits.

Baron, gritting his teeth, managed a strained smile. "You're strong, Meliodas, but don't underestimate me!" He summoned a massive tornado, threatening to consume everything in its path.

I smirked, unfazed. "Oh, I love a good challenge." With a burst of demonic energy, I charged headlong into the tornado, a clash of elemental forces that shook the very foundation of the battlefield. "This is getting interesting, Baron. What other tricks do you have up your sleeve?"

'Not only is his mana ambudent, also his techniques are very strange and well developped. Did that god give him a sort of boost?' I thought analysing my opponent.

'If this is true, then forget about magic. I will simply go the old fashioned way.' I and Baron transitioned from elemental clashes to a mesmerizing martial arts duel. Initiating the encounter, I unleashed a lightning fast jab, but Baron, ever nimble, evaded by ducking down and seamlessly transitioning into a backflip that created a gust of wind in his wake pushing me back.

'What is going on with those reactions speeds, and agility...' I asked.

Undeterred, I closed the distance with a series of quick punches, each strike infused with my demonic strength. Baron, displaying agility that matched the currents he controlled, sidestepped with grace, leaving afterimages in the air.

As we circled each other, I unleashed a spinning kick aimed at Baron's midsection. The air magician responded with a swift movement as he caught my leg under his armpit and while exercing force he pushed down my leg from the knee breaking it as it bends now in the opposite direction.

"AAAGGHHH." I cried in pain summoning hells blaze on him to make him let go, but with his speed he simply jumped meters back evading the flames.

My leg quickly regenrated which suprised Baron, but the pain was still intense. I wouldn't like to experience that again.

Recognizing the need for a change in strategy, I took my dagger in hand from Amaya. "I can't hold back anymore Baron, I dont have much time until the lances will arrive so I need to be quick to go after the king too."

"You won't touch a hair of the king, since you will die right here!" He shouted back. At that time runes illuminated my body as I lifted my dagger up, the next second I found myself behind Baron.

Seing me disapear of his vision angle, the first reflex he had was to look behind him and the moment he did that I was already at the other side behind his back again, and with precise movement I cut throught his neck with my blade sending his head flying in the air.

I used the same technique I used agaisnt Adam when I was still a kid.

*Thud*

As his head fell to the ground, I walked steadily towards it lifting it from its hair. "Im sorry Amaya, I know that this is disgusting but please store this inside you." I extanded the head next to Amaya.

"You know papa? If you keep giving me these things Amaya will end up hating you." She stored the head with a annoyed expression.

"Occasionaly Amaya, I wont cut anyone's head and store it just for fun." Lifting my head under the light reflected of the moon, I observed the big castle reaching the sky from afar, anticipation and anger filling my soul the more I looked at it. "Now I have an actual reason for doing it." I continued.

-Third Person POV-

King Blaine, driven by a selfish instinct for self-preservation, secluded himself in the fortified chambers of his castle. The news of the terrorist attack on Xyrus Magic Academy had sparked a visceral fear within him, overshadowing any concern for the well being of his subjects and people.

As he locked himself away, the king's mind raced with thoughts of securing his own safety above all else. "Let the guards deal with the chaos, as long as I am here everything would be safe. There are only elite troops and solider in the castle right now." He muttered, indifferent to the turmoil outside. His fingers clutched a goblet of wine, a futile attempt to drown his anxiety.

"FUCK! I would've prefered if Bairon stayed with me here but since Alea has disapeared for a while he needs to go there himself and stop the terrorists." He continued.

Unmoved by the loyalty of his guards and the sacrifices of others, Blaine disregarded the plight of his city and the potential harm to his people. His son Curtis and daughter Kathlyn, what he holds the most dear, were left to the protection of those under his command.

The king's inner monologue echoed with a callous tone. "I'll remain hidden, shielded from harm, while others bear the brunt of the danger. Let the city burn, as long as my castle stands unscathed."

The once-majestic halls of the castle now echoed with the hushed whispers of guards discussing strategies to fend off the attackers. Blaine, isolated in his selfish sanctuary, cared little for the sacrifices made by those sworn to protect him.

Slowly the sounds that he was hearing were starting to become weaker and weaker, taking away with them the nervousness and fear the king was experiencing, and instead of them a certain calmness envelopped his being.

"Soon, that necklace will be mine and there will be nothing to fear anymore. I will become immortal and reach new planes of strengh yet to be discovered! And with the elimination of those two princesses, no other kingdoom will be able to stop us and our strengh!" He seems confident and sure about himself, as if his plan were already acheived.

In the eerie calm that settled over the secluded chamber, King Blaine, having reassured himself with a self centered resolve, felt a fleeting sense of calm. The flickering candlelight cast shadows dancing across the walls, and a deceptive tranquility filled the room.

As he relaxed into a false sense of security, a sudden burst of blinding light from a lightning strike shattered the illusion.

The room illuminated with an electric blue brilliance, revealing every corner in stark detail. The king, momentarily blinded, squinted against the unexpected radiance. As the afterimage faded, a sinister silhouette materialized in front of him.

A low growl resonated through the chamber, and the air itself seemed to tremble. When Blaine blinked away the lingering effects of the light, the ominous figure took shape. Before him stood Meliodas, the dragon sin of wrath, a kid fueled by the fire of retribution and revenge.
