Training Facility (II)

As expected, Itawa wanted to become the leader so that he could order everyone around while Jira being Jira, simply hated the idea of following his orders. In other words, kids were being kids, though I wonder if the instructors are currently observing us. I wasn't going to put it past them and with my current skills, it was simply impossible to locate them.

While I didn't care about Itawa, I cared about Jira and I didn't want her to get involved in any trouble. For all I know, the Shinobis might decide to discipline the troublemakers. There was another reason why I wanted to stop the ensuing fight… From the outside, the Training Facility seemed to be quite big, so I am certain it will take us quite some time to look around the building and locate the cafeteria, our dorms, and the library.

Then there is the risk of traps… Considering the fact we were brought here to become Shinobis, I shouldn't dismiss the idea of traps. The traps may not be lethal, but they could incapacitate us… "Guys, please stop! We need to work together, instead of fighting between ourselves" I finally decided to intervene and stop the fight like a good samaritan.

Mira, who had been trying to stop Jira from the start, breathed out a sigh in relief after she saw me intervene. She wasn't as timid as Hinata, but Mira was still quite a timid girl. "Huh?! Why the hell should I listen to you?!" Itawa turned toward me and asked while fuming in anger. He started to think of me as his rival after I received the kunai from N Onee-san and later that rivalry turned into hate…

At least on his side, I never considered him to be my rival, to begin with…

Jira was about to snap back at Itawa, but before she could, I spoke up. "Then don't, but create a scene. We have other important things to worry about… If we waste too much of our time then we would have to sleep on these cold hard floors. Do you want that?" I asked Itawa. At first, he frowned, then he paled when the realization of my words finally dawned on him.

The other kids also gulped audibly as they realized what was at stake… After sleeping in a bed for this long and having timely meals, none of them even wanted to imagine sleeping on the floor or not having food… Oh, you poor and naive souls… I could only feel sorry for them. The life of a Shinobi was filled with unimaginable hardships. For someone like me, it was probably going to be even harder.

After all, I never had to sleep on the floor or go hungry in my past life. While I wasn't rich or anything, I had a comfortable life in my original world….

"For the time being, let's work together and find the cafeteria before noon and then we will look for the dorms" I suggested and everyone looked around unsurely before they decided to go along with my suggestion one by one. It wasn't a hard choice for them.

"...Fine, but this isn't over!" Itawa growled out while glaring at me and then he sent a glare at Jira before huffing in irritation. He was the last one to agree, so now that he was on board with my suggestion we finally spread out into groups of four and started to look around. Jira and Mira obviously joined my group since Mira was timid around everyone except for me and Jira.

The last one who joined my group was a boy named Azui, but he was that type of guy. I have never seen him say anything more than two words and even that was stretching it since he rarely spoke. I wonder what is going on inside his head… After looking around the building for the next couple of hours, I realized a few things. First of all, this place was freaking huge and secondly, the whole building seemed to be empty.

There was nobody inside the building and the weirdest thing… … There were no stairs leading to the second floor. We came across the other teams multiple times, but none of them had seen any stairs, Though we did manage to find the library, a room filled with standard Shinobi meal ready-to-eat packages, and a room filled with camping provisions.

I started to have a bad premonition about this… "There aren't even any rooms. Just empty halls full of nothing!!" Jira exclaimed in irritation before she plopped down on the floor.

Even though she was right, I didn't agree with her. I think our training has already begun. I think I understand why there are camping gears, but no dorms, meals ready-to-eat, but no cafeteria, and finally no stairs… I think they wanted to climb to the second floor by climbing the walls. Yes, it was a pretty big leap in logic, but it was the most plausible scenario.

Unlike in Konoha, Wall Climbing was more common in Kumo… While Konoha only used Wall Climbing as a means of Chakra training, in Kumo Shinobis used it for daily commutes. I was mostly certain that I was right in my assumptions, but I realized that I needed to check out the library to be more sure. Previously, I had decided to check the library later since finding the cafeteria was more urgent.

"I think we should head to the library" I suggested and Jira immediately frowned at my words.

"Please don't tell me you are going to start reading books right now" Jira groaned, looking horrified.

"Yes, I think we all need to read the books… I think I might have an idea what is happening, but I will be able to confirm if we go to the library" I answered firmly.

"I think we should listen to Raijin…" Mira said while tugging on Jira's sleeve. Thank you for supporting me, Mira. God bless your innocent soul… I already feel so sorry for her.

"Fine!" Jira grumbled unhappily, but she still agreed to visit the library with me. Then I turned toward Azui and he simply gave me a nod, instead of saying anything.

We arrived at the library and after inspecting the books on the shelves, I realized I was right. The shelves were filled with Basic First Aid Manuals, Basic Shinobi Survival Guides, Basic Camping Guides, and finally books on Wall Walking Exercise. I wasn't even sure if four year olds like us were capable enough to channel our Chakra. I wasn't even sure if Chakra Awakening Ritual was fanon or canon.

So, after quickly explaining the situation to my teammates, I cracked one of the books on Wall Walking Exercise and I was glad to find that Chakra Awakening Ritual was fanon. My teammates were completely horrified to learn about our current predicament, but I ignored them since I had something more important to deal with. I didn't even notice Jira leave to inform the others about our situation.

Mira and Azui decided to stay and I was glad that instead of simply lurking around, Mira started to read a Basic First Aid Guide and Azui started to read a Basic Camping Guide.

According to the book in my hands, the basics of Chakra were explained, but for the time being, I decided to ignore it and move to the part where the Chakra Molding process was explained. To be honest, the book made it sound like a very simple process, but I wasn't sure if the process was going to be really that simple. The MREs would last for months, so I knew that the process wasn't going to be that easy.

According to the book, Chakra basically originated in the mid-section of our bodies and it was constantly flowing within our bodies through the Chakra Network System, and in order to channel our Chakra, first we needed to sense the flow of our Chakra and then we needed to learn how to guide the Chakra inside our bodies. There were several ways in which a person could sense the flow of Chakra inside their bodies…

Though only two of those methods were most commonly used… Firstly, a person could sense the flow of Chakra in their bodies through meditation, or they could sense the flow of their Chakra by casting a Jutsu… When a person casts a Jutsu, the Chakra flow inside their body increases and for a moment, they would be able to sense their whole Chakra Network.

Thankfully, the three famous Academy Jutsus were provided inside the book. Even in Kumo, the Transformation Jutsu, the Body Replacement Jutsu and the Clone Techniques were the first Jutsus aspiring genins had to learn. I obviously decided to learn all three of them… After all, who would give up on the chance to learn Jutsus, though we aren't going to have anyone to teach us…

That might be quite problematic…

I closed the book as I realized that we were going to spend quite some time on the ground floor… So, with a sigh, I decided to prepare myself for a training montage…
