Stuck Between Doubt and Hope

The next morning, the duo wasn't too quiet. Nor were they louder than usual.

A new sort of tension was trickling over their adapting relationship. It wasn't a big deal to the goblin, though.

Sabina, on the other hand, felt unsure of her idealistic footing.

She had a long rest through the night. That brought up a few thoughts that needed to be either filtered and dumped or grasped and accepted.

*Am I really about to become the apprentice of a stranger? Who's barely half my level?* Sabina pondered. *Would Mom be proud of me as a warrior? Would Dad be proud to see my lack of personal pride?*

While the goblin chowed down on breakfast, Sabina ate slowly. In the back of her mind, the mental wrestling match had begun. And, in her core, she felt that reaching a conclusion sooner would be far more important than putting it off for later.
