Chapter 81

Jerome

A TEXT from Pierce lit up my phone, letting me know he’d sent over the financial document he promised to provide before our meeting the next day.

I didn’t care much about anything Pierce wanted to say that evening. Lily needed to grab her clothes and hurry back to me. I wanted her in my bed at the bed-and-breakfast to bury myself in her for the entire evening.

I needed to see her.

Something in my gut, a feeling I only experienced when she was around, desperately needed to make sure she was okay. Immediately.
