"You guys should leave for now,"
Rozen's expression remained unchanged in the heavy atmosphere as he addressed the others present.
They might have felt some dissatisfaction but understood that Rozen and Kimberly had important matters to discuss.
So, along with Yaya, they collectively exited the room.
Thus, the entire room was left with only Rozen and Kimberly.
"Please have a seat, Professor," Rozen invited Kimberly to sit on the couch and poured a cup of tea for her.
Kimberly, without any sense of urgency, took a seat on the sofa and leisurely enjoyed her tea before breaking the silence.
"You were the one who killed Bronson, right?" Kimberly brought up a sharp topic without any warning.
"Yes, it was me," Rozen admitted without the slightest hesitation.
"What about the 126 lives in the orphanage, including guards, bodyguards, puppeteers, and staff?" Kimberly calmly raised this question.
"I killed them all, just the same," Rozen once again admitted directly without the slightest hint of hesitation.
Kimberly fell silent at this response.
"Why?" Rozen, on the other hand, found this intriguing and smiled, saying, "Are you surprised, Professor Kimberly?"
Kimberly fell silent at this response.
To this question, Kimberly sighed.
"Can one not be surprised?" Kimberly pushed her glasses up and continued, "Leaving aside the threat brought by Bronson, a magus who was once closest to the Wiseman, our on-site investigation revealed that the entire orphanage's territory was burnt to ashes by magical flames. As far as I know, there is only one person in the world who can do such a thing, and that person is not normal, known as the 'Crimson'".
With this revelation, learning that a student in the academy accomplished something on par with and similar to what the previous Wiseman had done, who wouldn't be surprised?
Furthermore, with Bronson, who was once closest to the Wiseman, meeting his end at Rozen's hands and several puppeteers within the orphanage meeting the same fate, Rozen managed to single-handedly eradicate the "Divine Works" organization. This goes beyond mere surprise.
"Not to mention," Kimberly added with a meaningful tone, "According to eyewitness reports, a terrifying dragon appeared in the sky above the orphanage at that time. This dragon even spewed icy breath into the territory, and we found freezing phenomena in the vicinity, proving these claims. You also dispatched an unknown giant eagle-like creature to challenge Magnus before, creating a series of incredible phenomena. It all suggests that you've been hiding many things, Rorelai."
Kimberly's gaze toward Rozen became sharp and ominous.
From her, a malevolent and dangerous aura radiated.
Rozen couldn't refute this.
After all...
"For illegal intrusion into the territory, intentional damage to facilities, unauthorized theft of workshop research, arson, and murder, hundreds of lives are now homicides at your hands. Do you think we shouldn't investigate?" Kimberly's gaze towards Rozen became even more intense.
Her presence exuded an aura that was both sinister and perilous.
The person in front of Rozen is not an ordinary teacher but a magician from the "Crusader" combat unit of the "Mage's Association."
They are responsible for eradicating magic-related crimes and taboo incidents worldwide, maintaining order and peace in the world of magic. While they do not interfere with national governments, they have the authority to intervene in any events related to magic and taboos.
From Kimberly's perspective, there's no doubt that Rozen is a heinous criminal who needs to be apprehended and brought to the Vatican for trial.
However...
"If the 'Mage's Association' wanted to do that, they would have done so already," Rozen replied without a hint of panic, instead, he spoke with a hint of curiosity.
"What could have happened behind the scenes, my dear Professor Kimberly?"
Rozen probed in this manner.
Kimberly didn't hide much and directly informed Rozen.
"It's the Headmaster."
Kimberly uttered these words.
"The Headmaster, on his own name as a guarantee, protected you from the 'Mage's Association.'"
Upon hearing this, Rozen's eyebrows raised slightly.
"It seems you are not aware of this," Kimberly spoke as if confirming something, "I thought maybe you had made some deal with that old fox to make him intervene and protect you."
Rozen had certainly not done such a thing.
Although Rozen knew that what he did in wiping out all the members of the "Divine Works" was unacceptable from ethical, logical, and even societal legal perspectives, he never thought of seeking help from the Headmaster.
Of course, Rozen was not entirely unprepared.
If the "Mage's Association" did come knocking, Rozen had a way to make sure they left empty-handed.
However, he didn't expect the Headmaster to personally step in and shield him from the "Mage's Association."
"Does the Headmaster of this academy have such authority?" Rozen began to doubt this.
To achieve such a thing is akin to protecting a criminal in front of the police, preventing their arrest, and even getting the authorities to compromise and drop charges against that person, which is virtually impossible.
However...
"This is what we call politics. Even if many things have clear rules, you can still find loopholes, downplay major issues, and minimize minor ones," Kimberly said, almost as if mocking this phenomenon.
"After all, this is an academy, and the academy is an autonomous zone. The people you've killed were all unforgivable figures, and the facilities you damaged were part of illegal organizations that delved into forbidden territory. In this case, with the methods of that old fox, it's a walk in the park to protect a student like you, given his status and authority."
This is why the members of the "Mage's Association" didn't come knocking.
However...
"I'm afraid there's more to it than just those reasons, isn't there?" Rozen narrowed his eyes slightly and suddenly smiled.
This statement came from Rozen.
"I believe the bigger reason you haven't given me a hard time is that I am a participant in this year's Night Party, and there is a significant chance that I might emerge victorious."
Rozen then looked at Kimberly.
"This Night Party is unique and equally crucial for the 'Mage's Association.' Therefore, you simply can't afford to take action against someone who might potentially win this event, am I right?"
This statement caused Kimberly's expression to finally freeze.
