Chapter 27: Experiment

Orochimaru had been attending the medical class for five months. By now, he had mastered the use of medical techniques and was studying a more powerful jutsu - the Mystic Palm Technique.

Even though Orochimaru had knowledge of the Mystic Palm from his past life, mastering an advanced ninjutsu was no easy feat. It required understanding the flow of chakra within the body, mastering control, and perfecting the release techniques. This required repeated practice and numerous experiments.

Orochimaru reminded himself that even Sasuke, with the guidance of Kakashi, practiced the Chidori day and night for a month. And Naruto's Rasengan didn't come easily either; Jiraiya and the Fourth Hokage had to endure much suffering to develop it.

The complexity of hand seals did not necessarily equate to the difficulty of a ninjutsu. It was all about mastering the chakra control and technique.

Finally, Orochimaru felt a sense of relief when he saw the green chakra in front of him.

The Mystic Palm Technique was a powerful medical ninjutsu that could heal wounds using just bare hands. It provided rapid healing effects for both internal and external injuries.

This technique was highly valued for its versatility and speed. It was at least ten times faster than ordinary medical techniques, allowing medical ninjas like Tsunade to heal even while engaged in combat – making it incredibly practical on the battlefield.

However, medical chakra had the potential to harm as well as heal. Orochimaru had undergone countless painful experiences while trying to reproduce this jutsu with his own hands. Without his unique constitution, his efforts would have been in vain.

The Mystic Palm Technique was categorized as a Grade A Ninjutsu. Its difficulty lay not only in requiring more chakra but also precise control. It demanded that the healing chakra act accurately and evenly on the cellular level. If the control slipped, the immense energy involved could potentially incinerate the wounded.

Orochimaru had dedicated three months to silently studying this ninjutsu, and now it was time for him to reap the rewards.

Summoning a ten-meter-long python, a cloud of smoke appeared. But Orochimaru quickly held it down. He had to be discreet, as they were inside Konoha's hospital.

He cast a soundproof ninjutsu around them to prevent any disturbance. Then, with his hand forming a seal, a sharp edge of chakra appeared on his fingertip surface – a chakra scalpel.

While the Chakra scalpel wasn't as renowned as Chidori, for Orochimaru, it served well as a surgical tool. Unlike Chidori, it required precise chakra control and was effective only at close range. Nevertheless, it had its merits and could be a useful substitute until he perfected Chidori.

The python whimpered, seemingly aware of countless kin who had fallen to Orochimaru's hands.

"Stay calm, little guy. The danger arises from exploring the unknown without rigor!" Orochimaru reassured the python as he sliced through its thick scales with the chakra scalpel, making the snake bleed.

Orochimaru then used the Mystic Palm Technique to rapidly heal the wound. The bleeding stopped, and the wound closed within minutes, demonstrating the jutsu's remarkable effectiveness.

He had carefully documented the experiment, noting the time, the effect, and the chakra consumption.

Dressed in a white coat and wearing a mask, Orochimaru looked like any hospital doctor, but his cold, snake-like eyes betrayed his true nature.

With some special powers from Orochimaru, Orochimaru could use a jutsu called snake sloughing, allowing him to shed damaged skin, thus defending against fire damage. However, it came at the cost of stamina.

Curious about the limits of medical chakra, Orochimaru decided to experiment on himself. He cut his arm with a knife, willingly inflicting pain. As he activated the Mystic Palm Technique, his wound healed rapidly.

Excitement gleamed in Orochimaru's eyes as he pushed the limits further. He decided to overload the technique to see what would happen. Injecting an excessive amount of chakra into the python's wound, the results were catastrophic. The python suffered terribly, its cells mutating uncontrollably until it finally exploded, leaving a horrific scene of destruction.

Orochimaru saw this as a revelation – perhaps this was the reason why the first-generation cells with sage power led to explosive deaths? The excessive treatment resulted in cell mutation and uncontrolled growth, making it a dangerous and terrifying ninjutsu.

Unbeknownst to Orochimaru, other medical ninjas were discussing his incredible progress.

"That crazy guy in the mortuary might just surpass us if he keeps this up!" said one.

"Yeah, he might become something else entirely," added another with a hint of envy.

And so, Orochimaru's journey of exploration and self-experimentation continued, bringing him closer to mastering the powerful ninjutsu and seeking even greater knowledge of medical chakra.
