Chapter 91

Alex stared blankly for a few seconds before understanding why and simply explained how to do it and then helped him merge the soul fragments back together.

He had learned about the alchemy of souls from the book of ancient alchemy but never expected to use it in any situation other than against Voldemort but it did come to his aid when he needed it.

Ancient alchemy was categorized into four sub-sections based on the difficulty, it started with the alchemy of things, the alchemy of plants which was also called spagyric in recent times, next was the alchemy of the body, and ended with the most difficult of them all, the alchemy of souls.

Percy's body floated in the air while a thick strand of silvery light shot into his head from Isis's. It took a while but it was done nonetheless.

"Can you stay in character?"

Lucio nodded, who was now in Percy's body, "Yes. Although I don't like it, the guy you just killed was actually a pretty amazing actor."

"He sure was… if it wasn't for you, I'd have probably fallen for his trap."

Percy gave out a depreciating laugh, "Why do I feel like you planned every single thing out? You literally used the people who trusted you the most and depended on you. That's a bit heartless, isn't it?"

Alex coughed lightly, "If it's necessary for my survival, I'll do it. It's not like you were killed. I'm sure that the future me planned everything after a lot of effort and thinking."

"You sure did." He said, giving Alex a look of disappointment. "Putting that aside, what's your next plan?"

"My next plan huh… physical exertion. Like he said, I'll try my best to kill sloth and wrath. Lust and gluttony can be consumed. Finally, pride and envy… he said that the difficulty of consuming and killing the is the same so I'll think about it based on the situation.

You simply protect Harry. For the sake of your own life of course, but don't try to help him in any other way. You already know since you ate his soul, threads of fate surround him like swarming bees."

"Understood. Now…", he paused for a second, "I think that staying out of your common room this late will call for a deduction in house points and a visit to the professor Flitwick's office."

Alex ignored him and turned near invisible. Percy headed back inside, hoping to experience school life again, albeit with a few restrictions.

A few seconds after he was gone, the previous body which he used simply vanished.

*************

Alex didn't go to his dormitory and instead, walked into the room of requirements as he had something important to do before heading to bed.

A shining golden yellow chain shot out from his hand and circled around him for a few seconds until he caught it and tried to control it with his mind. He used the same method he learnt from Voldemort and in a fraction of a second, he found himself in a large room.

A yellowish ball the size of his fist floated in front of him and before he could do anything, mounds of gold shot out of it, as if challenging him.

"Hmm?" he muttered and all he had to do was think of it and it appeared. Mounds of gold that Alex owned appeared mid-air and fell down, forming a large hill of gold galleons.

The amount of gold he had was almost equal to the yellow ball of light. He looked at the large mounds below him and sighed, "I expected a little bit more… that guy really overhyped you lot."

A small red stone appeared in his hands and before he could do anything else, the yellow ball of light shot into him, making his body glow in bright yellow for a few seconds.

He couldn't see anything while the glow was present but after it was gone, he was back in the room of requirements. With a sight frown on his face, he thought of the yellow chain and it shot out of his body before staying still in front of him.

He did not know what kind of power he received so he stared at the chain, trying to see if there were any changes, only to fail.

'Oh well… he didn't lie and yet I'm unable to get this thing. Maybe I should ask Lucio… no Percy. Always gotta call him Percy in my head so I don't mess things up when I talk about him with others.', he thought as he held the chain, wanting to feel its weight.

Instead, he got a splitting headache which made him get to his knees. It was only after a few minutes that he stood up, sweat drenching his face and body.

'So that's how you learn how to use the power and how it works. Not really an experience I'd like to go through but anyways, I can now push someone to go completely mental for just a few galleons but only one person at once huh… Useful but not too much since I can do most of the stuff that I want without the need to do that.

Hmm… Greed… should I use it on Ron to isolate Harry even more? I guess there's no need to do that. The poor guy suffered a lot already… maybe I'll save it for when I might actually need it.'

Alex sighed as he left the room of requirements, his thoughts falling on Lucio, 'Did I really get attached to someone so much that I'd compare it to familial bonds? It doesn't matter now since I'll most probably learn about it in the future. At the very least, the chances of him staying under my control is way higher than that weird ass alien guy who wanted to kill me.

As for the time magic restrictions…. I'll have to learn a bit more. Although I did learn a bit from the book of ancient alchemy, the time turner that Percy has, is breaking some of the rules…'
