LDimitris sought an audience with Mariam and it was granted despite their strained relationship.

Mariam didn't trust Dimitris with her safety but that didn't mean she didn't trust that he did what he needed to do for the community.

Mariam looked astonishing, it was amazing that her beauty remained as captivating as ever even when the standards to maintain those things became increasingly hard.

"General, I'm surprised that you came back so quickly. Did you complete the task or was it a dead end?" Mariam asked, she was speaking formally, not that he minded because it allowed them to establish a tone of respect.

"I hate to disappoint you but we have gotten everything we need to last us for years to come," Dimitris pointed out, almost boasting.

Mariam couldn't believe what she was hearing and the shock on her face was evident.

"Y-You did it!?" Mariam exclaimed, for the first time in a very long time there was hope.
