Chapter 37

Suddenly, there were three Matthew.

All of them looked identical to one another and there was no way to find out which one was real. All three Matthew fired their arrow. Like the previous time the three arrow became nine arrows . But Holmes also deflected them .

2 minutes later -

Holmes got used to all of Matthew's tricks. Sometimes the arrow changed their direction. Some time an invisible arrow was shot behind a normal arrow. Sometimes Matthew's number even grew to 8 and he fired a rains of arrows at the same time . And sometimes the arrow became huge. But after 10 minutes Matthew surrendered.

"What? But why?" Asked Holmes.

"You think I won't find out that you are using me like a training bot ?" Asked Matthew.

"Tch. I was almost getting an epiphany."

"Next time atleast use elements while fighting, stupid. Everyone here knows you are a magic swordman."

' Calling me stupid, and it took you 2 whole minutes to find out I wasn't using elements.' thought Holmes.

Matthews just walked out of the ring. The crowd was completely speechless. People who bet on Matthew didn't even show any discomfort. Although both Matthew and Holmes was awakened person, from the battle they already realised that Holmes would have won if he went all out. And he didn't even use any elements.

Lucas earned another big numbers of points.

"Thinking about it, what is Holmes's element?" asked someone from the crowd.

"I don't know. Never seen him use elements."

"No that I think about it. We all know that he is a magic swordman. But we never saw him use any magic at all."

"Is he hiding his elements?"

"If he doesn't use elements isn't just a swordman. How will he became a magic swordman without magic. So he must be deliberately hiding it."

"What could his affinity be that he wants to hide it?"

Everyone around Lucas kept discussing about Holmes's affinity. But only Lucas knew what his actual affinity was. He was born with the affinity of Water and Fire, two opposing elements that a single vessel should never be able to withhold. Not only does Holmes has this absurd power ,he also has peak level affinity with both of them. In other words both of his affinity is at max level, completely balancing each other.

Next a boy with black hair entered the ring. He was also handsome looking but not like Holmes or Matthew who can be categorised like price. He was different type of handsome . A gaint hammer was on his shoulder.

"Ah! Finally it's my turn. I was getting all bored waiting for this." Said Gavin, rank 4.

This time the crowd didn't cheer at all. Even the students of class A-1 who were cheering for anyone from their class was silently cursing him to lose. Gavin didn't have a favourable image after all. But he didn't mind then at all.

From the other side of the ring a beautiful girl with ashen hair entered. A cold aura of elegance surrendered her figure. Her face was devoid of any emotions and her eyes looked cold. It was Rank 3-Zara Scarlett. The crowd cheered for her. Even the students from A-1.

Suddenly Gavin started laughing.

"Hahaha! Wait! Ahahaha... You are telling me, rank three is still unawakened? Even rank 8 is an awakened. Just how did you became rank 3?"

Zara didn't reply to him. The cheer of the crowd disappeared.

The crowd started chatting.

"Wait! She is still a mortal?"

"I thought Rank 3 was stronger then Rank 4."

"Man, I really wanted Gavin to lose."

Everyone started betting . The difference between a mortal rank and awakened is earth and sky. Although there are genius who can defeat people above their Rank, it's only when opponent is an ordinary awakened. What if the opponent is another genius who can defeat people above his rank? So other than few fans of Zara everyone had their bet on Gavin .

The countdown hit zero. Gavin rushed at Zara with his huge hammer. He made the distance between them half within a second. After all his motto is the first to strike wins. The floor beneath him cracked a little from the weight.

Zara had a sword in her waist. She didn't pull it out , instead she moved her hand in fast manner. In just one second the whole floor froze.

Gavin,who was rushing with such speed didn't get enough time to balance in the slippery floor. He fell face first. His overweighted hammer plummeted besides him . He was going to grab it and stand up when a huge block of ice fell on his back. It wasn't much him, as an awakened he had increased strength . He was going stand up again when another one fell on top of the previous one. Them another, another.

Gavin fainted, under a mountain of giant ice cubes.

Damian gave a look of pity while the rest in the group could only shake their head.

Lucas laughed wholeheartedly. This duel made him win over a thousand points. After all this is the incidence where Gavin got his nickname "The Fool". Later...

Suddenly Lucas's face became grim.

"They are going to die. They will all fucking die . I don't want to die ."

Lucas left the hall. Although he can bet on Novalie winning her duel everyone will be betting on her anyway. So he will not earn much from it. He has more important things to do.

'Damn it all. I just had to become an useless extra out of all.An extra that cannot rank up like humans. Can't live without drinking blood. Filled with so many weakness. And worst of all my fate is tied up by a Noble Blood vampire. Even if I escape they will find me. I will not be able to disobey him. My life is ruined.'

Suddenly Lucas slapped both of his cheeks.

"No. I must collect all of the other Legacy. I must get stronger. I can't give up on the last chance God has given me."
