Cecilia's face lined with a frown as confusion washed over her. She found it disrespectful for Robin to think so poorly of his mother, whom he loved dearly. She asked, her tone serious,
"How can you ask such a question?"
Robin responded with equal seriousness, "Grandma, I met a man at the party who looked so much like mom. Same green eyes and that pretty face, except, of course, he was a man and had short brown hair."
Cecilia pondered deeply and let out a sigh of relief. "It could just be a coincidence, a case of resemblance."
Robin thought the same, but he couldn't simply brush it off. He needed to be certain that the man he saw was not his mother's blood. "I managed to take a hair sample from him for a DNA test," he revealed.
"That's good," Cecilia agreed, though she still felt uneasy about the whole resemblance situation.
However, Robin wanted to be absolutely sure if he was his mother's only child, so he asked again.
