WAITING FOR HIS AWAKENING

Jack was anxious as he sat in the car with his mother and Lily, "what if his dad doesn't wake up?" That was the thought that was going through his head as they made their way to the hospital.

Jack, Lily, and Rosa sat in the waiting room of the hospital, their eyes firmly fixed on the door that led to Jack's father's room. They had just met with the doctor, who had given them some good news.

"As I have told your mom before, Your father was shot in the head, but fortunately, the bullet didn't graze his brain. His body is reacting well to the treatment, and we expect him to wake up soon. However, we can't say anything for certain. It's a wait-and-see situation," the doctor had said.

Jack had felt a surge of relief when he heard the news. It wasn't great news, but it was still better than what he had been afraid of. He had been afraid that his father would never wake up, that he would be in a coma for the rest of his life. But now, there was hope.

Lily put her hand on his shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. "I'm so relieved. This is good news, Jack."

Jack nodded, his eyes focused on the door. He couldn't bear the thought of his father never waking up. Although he never wanted to be like his father his father was one of the strongest people he has ever known. And now, to see him lying there, helpless and unconscious, it was too much for him to bear.

Rosa came into the waiting room, carrying a tray of coffee and pastries. "I thought you two could use some breakfast. You can't just sit here all day without eating."

Jack smiled gratefully at her and took a cup of coffee. "Thanks, Mom. You're the best."

She smiled back at him and inhaled sharply, "Don't mention it, Jack. I'm just happy that your father is going to be okay." She picked up a cup of coffee and sipped on the straw, she was grateful that her husband had a chance to live.

To Lily, the woman was a dutiful wife who was staying with her husband in his time of need. Mr. Haden was very lucky to find such a beautiful woman like Rosa, who also has a pretty heart.

They sat in silence, sipping their coffee and eating the pastries. Jack and Lily stole glances at each other, feeling a strange connection that they couldn't quite explain. Lily looked at the family, she was happy she could be with the family in their time of need.
