The Village Chief Part Two

An old man aged fifty-two appeared before Necker, with a majestic aura and luxurious clothes.

Seeing the old man, Necker fell onto his knees with a respectful expression on his face.

It was the expression which was incited due to several reasons such as due to the village chief, he could do whatever he wanted in the village.

He also benefitted a lot as he stole some of the necessities while returning back from the city, and nobody dared to speak against him.

It was all trivial reasons, the most crucial of them all was fear. Dinah, the village chief was one of those psychopaths who would butcher you while praising your sense of humour.

Once he saw a little girl throw a small stone and by mistake, it collided with Dinah's face.

On the spot, Dinah made a humble expression that it was an accident, no need to apologise or compensate, but later in the night, he kidnapped the little girl and fed it to the wild dogs as he watched as they tore apart her skin.

Dinah prayed to the sun and slowly sat on the big chair resembling a throne.

"A cultivator, right?"

His voice was old but calm giving you the feeling of an experienced grandpa who was nature loving.

But that facade did not calm Necker in any form.

"Yes, your majesty!"

Necker's voice quivered a bit as he lowered his head even further.

"I have long lost my spirit, running from one place to another, I want a good life for my sons and myself so I will not create any conflict with him, you understand?"

Dinah warned him not to trouble Orion and Angelica anymore.

"As you say, your majesty!"

Necker banged his head with sheer force two times until the blood began coming out of his forehead and apologised.

"It's alright, Necker. You should understand I just want to have a peaceful life. Although my past is a stain on my life and will forever haunt me, it does not mean that I will give up myself and become lost in darkness and anger, so talk to them and tell them the exact words I said line by line,"

Dinah sighed stroking his white beard like a sage who was indifferent to these petty conflicts.

"I will obey your command!"

Necker bowed once again and left the luxurious mansion.

"A cultivator, and especially he is just a teen?"

Dinah sipped apple juice and pondered.

In Orion's broken house, one boy and one girl were playing with each other.

"Hehe, you can't find me,"

Angelica chuckled as she hid herself in the house.

Orion tried to find the direction where the voice was coming from.

"Hmm, Alright you win!"

He, at last, gave up searching for her and fell on the bed.

"You lost!"

She giggled and revealed herself behind the small box lying on the floor.

"Hey, I did not know that there was a box outside the room, so I did not search there,"

Orion woke up and protested.

"Hmm, admit it you lost okay?"

She made a funny face and teased him.

"You!"

Orion became annoyed and grabbed her into his arms.

"Stop teasing me, alright?"

She was in his arm on the bed as he put up an annoyed expression.

"Hehe, No!"

She poked his face and mischievously smiled.

Thump!

Orion grabbed her by the waist and turned around putting her below him on the bed.

Their breaths mingled and Orion's heart beating increased, he put his hand back on her thick thighs and removed her shiny blonde hair which was covering her eyes.

"You do what I say!"

Orion said as his face got closer to hers.

"No!"

Angelica showed her white teeth as she giggled again.

"You!"

Knock!

Orion was about to do something when there was a knock on the door.

He quickly got up and Angelica rushed to the kitchen to start cooking.

"Who?"

Orion asked before opening the door, he was annoyed as someone disturbed his sweet talks with his sweetheart.

"It's the informer, the supply has come from the city, please be present there by five p.m. in the evening,"

The informer informed him about the supply.

"Alright, I will be there at the right time,"

Orion let out a sigh and went back to the bed.

He recalled the same pleasant sweet scent of Isla, and his mood joyed.

Now he was even more sure that Angelica was Isla, just in another world and could not stop himself from searching for more power so that nature never takes her again away from him.

"What do you want to eat? I have prepared plenty of things,"

Angelica's sweet voice came out from the small kitchen.

"Whatever your Highness will make, I will be delighted to eat,"

Orion replied with genuine emotion.

Angelica appeared with two plates and prepared the dinner table.

The dishes smelled nice as there were both kinds of vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

Orion took a deep breath and stood up from the bed and sat on the chair which was in bad condition.

Sip!

He took a sip of radish soup and found it excellent.

"Haha, even Gordon Ramsay would have said finally some nice food,"

He exclaimed in joy as the delicious soup touched his taste buds.

Angelica shook her head in a smile as she elegantly ate.

After finishing their food, Orion helped her in cleaning dishes and some other kinds of stuff.

Although Orion was being a bit too caring and gentle, Angelica was happy to see that.

She had been doing all these things because Orion used to sleep mostly due to his weak body, now a helping hand and his compliments made her forget all the complaints she had towards life.

Orion who had lived an entire life before knew that small gestures are the most important thing.

At last, Angelica was just a fourteen years old girl no matter how mature she had become due to circumstances. If he could share some work, and help her from time to time, she would not feel the absence of her parents that much.

After finishing all the important work,

"Alright, Let's take a nap,"

Confused by the unfamiliar word, Angelica was about to ask for an explanation when Orion grabbed her by the arm and led her to the bed.

He ordered her to rest while he sat on a broken chair, deep in thought and devising multiple plans.

Unfortunately, I've encountered an issue where power stones aren't being added to my book and despite contacting webnovel about it, the problem persists. Additionally, this is causing my novel to receive less exposure as it's not showing up in my original works. I'm hopeful that webnovel will respond to my inquiry soon.
