CHAPTER 108 – THE FIRST BATTLE OF THE INDIGO LEAGUE, ASH VS TOBY

In the previous chapter we see how our heroes win the preliminary rounds without any problem and go to the second round where they announce who will be their opponents, in the case of Ash would fight against Toby, the Water type trainer with whom he met in the events of Mewtwo, Who will win this fight?

We both placed ourselves in our respective positions.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN TODAY I WILL BE YOUR COMMENTATOR, MY NAME IS TOBIAS AND I WILL BE IN CHARGE OF HIGHLIGHTING THE MOST IMPORTANT MOVES OF THESE TALENTED TRAINERS, REMEMBER THAT DURING THE BATTLE YOU CAN ONLY USE ONE BATTLE MECHANIC NAMELY, MEGA EVOLUTION, Z MOVES, DYNAMAX OR THE TERASTAL PHENOMENON!" – said the commentator.

Yes, I remember that in the original anime there was also a commentator and apparently the combat mechanics is the same as the anime, well to the last season.

"THE CHALLENGERS HAVE ALREADY BEEN PLACED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POSITIONS SO THEY CAN START!" – said the commentator.

Out of the corner of my eye I looked at the huge screen and managed to see my photo with 6 blank Pokéball, just like in the anime.

"May the best Ash win, Seismitoad I choose you!" – said Toby.

A strong-looking Seismitoad took to the field to fight.

Should I take Meowscarada out? No, I'm going to give another Pokémon a chance.

"Beautifly I choose you!" – I said.

And my Beautifly went out into the battlefield ready to win.

Some will wonder that, because I take out Beautifly having Meowscarada, well, do not underestimate this Beautifly, we have trained hard.

"TOBY'S FIRST POKÉMON IS A GREAT SEISMITOAD WHILE ASH'S FIRST POKÉMON IS A SHINY BEAUTIFLY!" – said the commentator.

"Ice Punch!"

Seismitoad wrapped his fist in a bluish glow and lunged toward Beautifly.

"Beautifly dodge it and use Sleep Powder!"

With astonishing speed my Pokémon dodged Seismitoad's attack and spread a green powder.

"Dodge it Seismitoad!"

But Seismitoad to begin with was already a slow Pokémon so he could not dodge the Sleep Powder in time and fell to the ground asleep.

"ASH'S BEAUTIFLY HAS PUT TOBY'S SEISMITOAD TO SLEEP IN AN INCREDIBLE MOVE!"

"Seismitoad wake up!"

But it was useless, Seismitoad was asleep like a log.

"Take advantage and use Energy Ball!"

Taking advantage of the fact that he was asleep, Beautifly sent an Energy Ball directly towards Seismitoad impacting him and causing him to fly towards the floor.

"A VERY EFFECTIVE ATTACK FOR A GROUND AND WATER TYPE LIKE SEISMITOAD!" – the commentator.

"Tch, Seismitoad come back!" - said Toby, returning Seismitoad to his Pokéball.

"TOBY HAS DECIDED TO WITHDRAW SEISMITOAD FROM THE MATCH TO PREVENT HIM FROM CONTINUING TO RECEIVE VERY EFFECTIVE ATTACKS FROM ASH, GOOD CHOICE!" – the commentator.

"Ludicolo I choose you!" – said Toby.

And a Ludicolo came out of his Pokéball, a Ludicolo? Good choice, Ludicolo can't fall asleep with Beautifly's Sleep Powder.

"Beautifly come back!" – I said returning Beautifly to his Pokéball.

Then I looked at Pikachu and nodded.

"Pikachu I choose you!" – I said.

"Pika pi!" - said Pikachu as he stepped out onto the battlefield.

"PARTICIPANT TOBY HAS SENT HIS LUDICOLO TO FIGHT WHILE PARTICIPANT ASH HAS ALSO DECIDED TO RETIRE HIS POKÉMON BY SENDING HIS PIKACHU TO THE BATTLEFIELD!" – the commentator.

*Note: from now on I will stop putting – the commentator, if you see that everything is written with capital letters is the commenter unless you say otherwise.

"Your Pikachu? I was already looking forward to fighting him, Ludicolo use Rain Dance!"

Ludicolo began to dance and a rain began to fall on the field.

"Pikachu let's finish off Ludicolo, use Quick Attack!"

Ludicolo's ability is Swift Swim that increases his speed when it rains, I couldn't stop him from using the attack but Quick Attack can make up for that.

"Use Protect and counterattack with Scald!"

Pikachu hit Ludicolo's Protect which did not receive any damage but for my bad luck the Scald hit Pikachu.

"Are you okay Pikachu?" – I asked.

"Pika pi" – Pikachu nodded.

"AWESOME STRATEGY BY TOBY WHO USED THE PROTECT TO PROTECT HIMSELF FROM PIKACHU'S ATTACK KNOWING THAT PIKACHU WAS FASTER THAN HIM!"

Think Ash, now Ludicolo is faster than Pikachu or at least they are tied, there must be a way to weaken him.

"I won't wait sitting for you to think of a strategy, Ludicolo attacks with Energy Ball!"

A green ball headed towards Pikachu.

But suddenly an idea occurred to me, i do not like to copy the original Ash but I must admit that there is a strategy that I liked and that he used both in Sinnoh and when he fought against Cynthia in the last season.

"Pikachu use Iron Tail and breaks that sphere!"

Pikachu lit up his tail and broke Ludicolo's attack as if nothing had happened.

"Now Ludicolo, take advantage and use Scald!"

Ludicolo threw a stream of boiling water towards Pikachu.

"Quick Attack to dodge it, and then lie on the ground!"

Pikachu nodded and used Quick Attack to dodge it and then lay down to the ground.

"ASH'S PIKACHU MANAGED TO DODGE THE ATTACK AND NOW HE'S LYING ON THE GROUND LIKE NOTHING, I WONDER WHAT HE'S TRYING TO DO!"

"I don't know what you are up to, but it won't work, Ludicolo use Scald!"

But I expected that.

"Now Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu used Thunderbolt as he began to spin on himself, that's right, it's the same strategy the original Ash used against Cynthia.

Numerous lightning bolts began to come out all over the battlefield completely nullifying Ludicolo's Scald causing it to suffer damage in the process, what why? The ground is wet, and lightning is also hitting the ground.

"AWESOME MOVE BY ASH THAT IS MAKING HIS PIKACHU USE HIS THUNDERBOLT IN ALL DIRECTIONS ALSO HITTING THE GROUND AND IMMOBILIZING THE LUDICOLO!"

"Damn! What kind of strategy is that? Ludicolo use Protect!"

But Ludicolo was being electrocuted and couldn't respond to his trainer's order.

"It's the end, Pikachu use Thunderbolt at full power!"

"PIKACHUUUUUU!" – shouted Pikachu.

And the Thunderbolt doubled its size and power causing the Ludicolo to fall to the ground completely weakened, seriously, this Pikachu is impressive, nothing to do with the ordinary Pikachu, in fact it makes me doubt that he is a Pikachu.

"AWESOME, AFTER A MASTERFUL STRATEGY, LUDICLO HAS WEAKENED AND THE WINNER OF THIS CONFRONTATION HAS BEEN PIKACHU!"

An incredible amount of claps shook the stadium.

"You've done well Ludicolo" – Toby said returning his Pokémon to his Pokéball.

Then he looked at me.

"I must admit that your Pikachu is on another level, at first I thought that a Pikachu would not be too difficult to beat, but... I underestimated you both, which will not happen again, Seismitoad I need you!" – said Toby.

And a completely asleep Seismitoad went out onto the battlefield.

"I see, an earth-type Pokémon so my strategy won't work against you,but for your bad luck your Seismitoad is asleep and that's not my only strategy, Pikachu use Quick Attack!"

Pikachu wrapped himself in a white light and shot out towards Seismitoad hitting a direct blow and sending him flying.

"PARTICIPANT TOBY HAS TAKEN OUT HIS SEISMITOAD AGAIN, IN PRINCIPLE HE HAS THE ADVANTAGE BUT HE IS ASLEEP FROM HIS PREVIOUS BATTLE WHICH PUTS HIM AT A DISADVANTAGE AGAINST PIKACHU DESPITE HAVING THE ADVANTAGE OF TYPES!"

"Seismitoad wake up, i believe in you!" – shouted Toby.

And as if answering his call, Seismitoad opened his eyes.

"Perfect, Seismitoad let's finish off that Pikachu, use Earthquake!"

"Try to dodge it!"

Damn, I thought his dream would last long enough to weaken him before he woke up, I couldn't imagine this situation.

When his feet touched the ground a tremor shook the earth causing even the battlefield to crack.

Pikachu tried to dodge Seismitoad's blow but was hit by rocks and sent flying.

"Pika!" - said Pikachu after flying away.

"AWESOME, PARTICIPANT TOBY'S SEISMITOAD HAS AWAKENED AND IMPACTED A GROUND-TYPE ATTACK ON PIKACHU WHICH RECEIVED CRITICAL DAMAGE! WHAT WILL PARTICIPANT ASH DO NOW?!"

What will I do? It is clear against attacking the tremor with tremor.

"Pikachu, are you okay?" – I asked.

Pikachu had suffered quite a bit of damage and could see that he was panting, but he still nodded.

"That Pikachu can't barely stand anymore, Seismitoad ends up with him using Earthquake!"

"PARTICIPANT ASH HAS DONE SOMETHING INCOMPREHENSIBLE AGAIN! WHAT KIND OF STRATEGY WILL HE BE PLANNING?!"

"No matter what strategy it is, it's your end, let's go Seismitoad!"

Seismitoad jumped and caused another earth tremor that was heading towards Pikachu with great speed.

"Quick Attack!"

Pikachu wrapped himself in a white light and used Quick Attack against the ground making it shake, that's right, another of Ash's strategies that I loved.

"INCREDIBLE, IF I HADN'T SEEN IT I WOULDN'T HAVE BELIEVED IT, PARTICIPANT ASH'S PIKACHU HAS CREATED AN IMITATION OF SEISMITOAD'S EARTHQUAKE PREVENTING HIS ATTACK FROM HITTING HIM, THIS IS INCREDIBLE!"

Both tremors collided causing numerous stones to be scattered everywhere.

"But what kind of strategy is this?! – exclaimed Toby stunned.

"The one who defeated you, Pikachu ends up with him using Iron Tail!"

Pikachu pulled his tail off the ground and quickly headed towards Seismitoad.

"Dodge it!"

But it was impossible, the distance at which he was too short to dodge the attack which impacted Seismitoad weakening him completely.

"THIS IS INCREDIBLE, PARTICIPANT ASH JUST PROVED THAT POKÉMON TYPES AREN'T EVERYTHING BY WEAKENING AN EARTH GUY BEING AN ELECTRIC TYPER!"

"I must admit that you and your Pikachu are amazing, never in my entire life did I believe I will face a Pikachu so strong" - Toby said as he returned his Pokémon to his Pokéball.

It is normal that Pikachu is so strong, during these months we have trained very hard, we have perfected strategy and above all reinforced bonds of friendship that although you do not believe it in this world is fundamental, mainly because there are times when you can not give direct orders to your Pokémon so having a good friendship, your Pokémon will be able to understand you even without words.

"But that doesn't mean I'm going to give up, I'm strong too, Swampert I choose you!"

And a powerful-looking Swampert stepped out onto the battlefield.

"This is my Swampert, I catch him during one of our trips to the Hoenn region" - Toby said.

"IT'S AMAZING PARTICIPANT TOBY'S NEXT POKÉMON IS A SWAMPERT!"

Normally I would change to Pikachu... but I want to see if we can with another Pokémon.

"Pikachu, do you want to continue or do you switch to another Pokémon?" – I asked.

It is also important to ask for their opinion.

"Pika pi" – Pikachu denied.

"If you are so clear... then let's continue!" – I shouted.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN PARTICIPANT ASH HAS DECIDED TO CONTINUE WITH HIS PIKACHU! WILL IT GIVE US ANOTHER SURPRISE?"

"Heh, this time there is no chance to win, Swampert use Muddy Water!"

Suddenly, a brown wave came out of nowhere and headed towards Pikachu.

"Jump Pikachu, don't let him hit you!"

Pikachu jumped, however, Swampert was already waiting.

"What the hell?" – I exclaimed in surprise.

"It's your end, Swampert use Waterfall!"

A torrent of water formed in his fist and directly hit Pikachu who was also impacted by the weakening Muddy Water.

"Are you okay Pikachu?!" – I said picking him up from the ground quickly.

"Pika pi" – Pikachu nodded faintly.

"INCREDIBLE STRATEGY OF THE PARTICIPANT TOBY WHO HAS JUST WEAKENED HIS OPPONENT OF ONLY TWO ATTACKS BEING NOW 2 TO 1! WHAT WILL PARTICIPANT ASH DO NOW?"

Heh, if you think your Swampert is enough to beat me, then you take it clear.

"Get ready Toby because this time I'll be serious!" – I exclaimed.

"That's what I want, come to me with everything you've got!" – he said with emotion.

Then I left my Pikachu slowly on the ground and took out my next Pokéball.
