"This is his number, it's the only one I can never forget." Valerie said, staring animatedly at the ID of the contact who sent the voice message.
It was fortunate her mind was preoccupied with her recent discovery of Ivan's betrayal, rather than how I was able to maneuver my way out of two speeding bullets.
"But I don't understand it, why would he want me dead?" Valerie voiced out in disbelief, her watery eyes were glued to the screen so much that I dreaded telling her we needed to get off the car and out of here as soon as possible.
"It's obvious, he's working with Ceaser, he's after the deed too." I said filling in the blanks.
"But…but he booked my flight…and wired me money to go abroad…" she rambled on, trying to make sense of the situation.
"Tch," I hissed, "He's doing the same thing he did when he killed your parents…."
