Unknowingly pushed her in the harms way

Sun Shi turned silent. She glanced at Mo Xifeng, and even though her niece did not say anything to her, Mo Xifeng did look her in the eyes for the first time ever since she and Mo Qiang stepped inside her mansion. Seeing the profound gaze of her niece, Sun Shi felt a weird surge of emotion in her heart. 

Because she did not have the time to care about anything else other than the safety of her citizens, Sun Shi never married. Especially after the betrayal of her brother, who was supposed to be her closest relative, Sun Shi started being wary of mers which made it impossible for her to marry anyone. 

And when she found out that her brother had actually thrown away his daughter in a dimension where no one had ever survived, her wariness turned into disgust. Sun Shi knew that not every mer was the same but she couldn't help herself. To make matters worse, her niece was missing. So how could she have the time to marry someone?
