"Only two but no more." Lireesa raised her hand to show two fingers at Ella who blocked the path outside. "It tired my brain to come up with new ideas. Don't you know rest and work must be allocated?"
"Twenty. Unless you finished them, you're not leaving at all." As the eldest among the three playmates, her aura never weakened, confronting Lireesa. "As the Lord of the great noble house, this is nothing for you compared to your management. Instead of arguing with me, complete your task."
"Management my ass. You're the de-facto lord of our Windrunner," Lireesa said bitterly and her despondent face would have charmed everyone to sympathize with her. Pity, this didn't include Ella who never stepped back from what she wanted. "You're managing the entire manor. Of course, this amount is nothing compared to our great steward who did paperwork every day. But I'm always practical and writing is not my favorite. So, 5 at most."
"Twenty," said Ella not even blinking her eyes and Lireesa's rebuke never faltered her. "Once you finish you can get out. Otherwise, be prepared your ear the whole day inside this room until you sleep."
"Damn, Ella. Negotiation isn't supposed to be like this. I increase, you had to reduce. What do you still mean twenty." Lireesa was puzzled by Ella's seriousness and frightened by her style of bargaining. "We must find common ground between our differences to a better solution. You're a bandit now. Seven no more no less. This is my last."
"Twenty," Ella regurgitated her demands and caused spasms in Lireesa's mouth, who itched to curse out fallible words but never dared. Being with Ella was the biggest cane at the moment. Once she swore, who knew whether this ruthless sister would demand her more. "Give up, milady Lireesa, you can't change my mind. Once I had something, I never take a step back."
Damn, Lireesa thought, this is forcing the palace style. Being crushed by her own butler, she must be the only lord among the nobles.
"Ah! You still notice I'm your Lady. Ella don't blame me for what I'm doing next. This will become the biggest stain for Windrunner's reputation." Lireesa threatened the consequences of annoying her. She felt she had grasped Ella's handle and sure enough, Ella somewhat reacted a little. But seeing Ella motionless, Lireesa gritted her teeth and shouted: "You force me."
Ella was inexplicable initially, worried about what her dear sister planned for her move, and was instantly relieved after Lireesa acted. She saw Lireesa clattering her teeth and lying down on the marble floor. And then Lireesa rolled around on the floor shamelessly demanding her points. Back and forth she cleansed the entire marble floor and exclaimed her injustice. Her outcry was pitiful and deafening. Lireesa continued wiggling when she didn't hear Ella's voice.
Her eyelids twitched from premonition and Lireesa had a glimpse of what Ella was doing. From standing in front of the door to carelessly leaning her back, Ella's face remained unchanged, and raised her eyebrows at Lireesa. Helpless, Lireesa stayed quiet and decided to sleep. Ella added: "You can shout, even if your throat breaks no one will come to you. The office room is soundproof to prevent disturbance."
Lireesa signed and thought something was wrong with Ella's sentence. Why did it seem like Ella's about to commit a crime? She shook her head and reminded herself not to hallucinate. Ella would never be such a type of person. It must be a coincidence.
"Fifteen recipes. That is really the most I can come up at the moment." Lireesa signed and finally surrendered at the mercy of Ella. As her surname TrueSeeker meant, Ella was really a terrifying opponent.
"Okay, Deal!" Ella's mouth turned into a curve and her smile pacified Lireesa's current grievance, swatting away her gloomy clouds. Lireesa also returned the smile but somehow felt she had been played around. Sure enough, what Ella said next froze her expression.
"I at most thought 10 is your biggest concession." Ella turned around and opened the door halfway. She tilted her head slightly and smirked. "But who knows you've hidden so much under your sleeves. Remember I'll be leaving for a while. I hope to see you finish today and do not leave before you're done. Otherwise, you'll bear the consequences."
The door closed and Lireesa had an unlovable face, feeling she was toyed around by her own friends. No matter her rank or her prestige, in front of Ella, she was the little sister taken care of by the eldest. During wartime, Ella never disturbed Lireesa nor undermined her works, but inside the manor, Lireesa even wondered whether her lord's name was a decoration. She finished scribing one recipe and decided to wander around, but was prevented by Ella. This was the whole scenario and how it came to be. Now she vowed she'd never played the negotiation game with Ella any longer.
She understood Ella's urgency and didn't complain too much, continuing her writing to deliver these to the chefs. The sooner she finished, the faster the agenda to open the restaurant became. It was already past noon when she nearly completed Ella's quest and her stomach churned. Lireesa had even hallucination to stride away from this room and satisfied her hunger. Nevertheless, her heart warned Lireesa otherwise. Fortunately, Ella still had love for Lireesa and brought lunch by herself, and put it on the desk in front of her. She groped Lireesa's hair lovingly and placed the plates in front of Lireesa on the desk.
The two ate together inside the room and no one spoke. Lireesa wasn't worried her daughters would wait for her during the meal, because most of the time her busy schedule prevented Lireesa from having a family meal. Sylvanas and Vereesa were used to her absence. Lina was still young and would complain, but Ella must have already informed them. As they ate, the door creaked and entered her daughters. Lina always liked jumping over her and Lireesa didn't resist, because she was her sunshine in this world. Her daughters had already eaten and knew their mother's plan.
When the two finished their meals, Ella conversed her opinions and inputted some new ideas onto Lireesa's residual plan. Lireesa listened and noticed Ella's supplements were helpful to her goals. Lireesa explicitly stated she was relieved to let Ella take charge, causing her friend to roll her eyes at the behavior because Lireesa wherever possible delegated the work to her. If not for her duty as a general-ranger of the Quel'Thalas, Ella imagined she would definitely see the sight where Lireesa lying flat and cherishing every second of her laziness.
Afterward, Ella had some work to do and left first, followed by Sylvanas and Vereesa who were mysterious most of the time. Lireesa never delved into what they aimed for; she believed her daughters understood the extent and would discuss it with her should they encounter the problem. Lina went out and came back again with her toys, playing around in her office. The maids who took care of her were worried about causing a disturbance to Lireesa and she waved them off. She was glad and full of energy when Lina resided near her. Lireesas now bored and dubious to waste her time reminisced arcane mage's notes given by two sorceresses many years ago, when the predecessors saved them from the trolls' hand. She failed to recruit them and the two sorceresses, to make themselves feel better, gifted Lireesa with their notes, should the Windrunner decide to train sorcery.
As one of the great nobility, basic cultivation of arcane magic was readily available, and the old Lireesa also studied them, experimenting herself, and sadly discovered her talent wasn't there. Now Lireesa had the urge to test herself again and sifted through those books because her old memories threw away those data. She relearnt everything from the basics and tried it out. As the elven raced blessed by Azeroth, their magical abilities existed in their body. It was the amount of accumulation required to breakthrough to become a magister that differentiated mages from other elves. Mages were therefore regarded as superior and noble while the other professions were civilians in mages' eyes.
Strangely, Lireesa was able to conjure spells only castable by mages. Although this sounded extraordinary, Lireesa knew her mana was exceptionally different from the past and other rangers were sufficient to cast these spells. Lireesa could now become a veritable magister, but she wasn't planning to dive deep into arcane magic. If she could, she'd prefer the mage profession to be auxiliary supporting her ranger. Should she choose to major in arcane sorcery, Windrunner house's ranking amongst the great noble houses would definitely rise and reach the pinnacle alongside their lingering reputation.
Without mentioning her ancestry, Lireesa couldn't bear to stand the watchful eyes if she transferred her profession into a magister without drinking the Sunwell water and becoming addicted. The mage profession itself in Quel'Thalas was the liability, because she couldn't guarantee Sunwell would be well-guarded and free from harm, or prevent the event of Sunwell explosions. Big bosses were planning for these energy wells and she was no match for them currently, where their levels stayed at demigod rank Lireesa was unable to attain. She was convinced the pinnacle of Legendary wasn't far from her grasp, but she had no idea about the requirements to upgrade from Legends to the realm of gods. The chasm wasn't something mortal could easily huddle over.
"Mother!" Lina shrieked as she threw the ball in her hand at Lireesa. Lireesa came out of her thoughts. Lireesa smiled and grasped the ball with one hand and threw it back. Lina giggled and ran around picking up the balls. She threw at Lireesa again. This time Lireesa didn't even move and repeated the process, where each time the ball was tossed in different directions. Lireesa's face turned warm every moment she heard Lina squealing in joy and resumed her attention on reading the excerpt. The maids at the entrance were stunned by the sight, lamenting their lady knew how to play with Lina without losing her concentration and the adorable sight in front, where it was fortunate no fragile pieces were inside the room and the ball itself was very soft.
A week passed by unknowingly; Lireesa had read all the notes given by the sorceress and she learnt magic a bit too quick as if she was a fast learner. Compared to the previous world, every elf's brain worked faster and there was no denying, but she had even exceeded this level. Now her proficiency in arcane sorcery had even reached the peak of mid-level or level 6 peak; provided that the notes included more Lireeesa was confident to reach high-level mage rank, but the women who sent them were still mid-level at that time and becoming a level 6 magister based on their notes in a week had already satisfied Lireesa.
In addition, Lireesa had a peculiar sensation that throbbed whenever the wind brushed past her. She always dreamt she became the wind itself flowing along the current and felt she could control the element surrounding her. The wind around began to show friendliness toward her and it wasn't her hallucination as she initially thought of due to overworking. Her instinct made her understand they were her strength, which commenced after staying in the quasi-legend peak realm for some time. Lireesa knew she somehow comprehended part of the law of the wind and if she increased her conception, it was the time when she advanced her rank and entered the legend. She remembered her predecessor told her that after fusion she was likely to become a legendary powerhouse and now realized she might have already foreseen this situation. During this week, as soon as she was aware, she tried to understand but couldn't.
It was like a mathematical equation that students knew in their hearts and memorized, applying it properly to their problems. However, they never fathom the process of how it originated and where it came from, which was of the utmost importance to comprehend the existing law. Lireesa decided to let her mind flow and not forcibly try. She believed it would be soon and hoped that she reached the Legend realm before her trip to Silvermoon City.
I'm sick and uncomfortable.
The author initially thought discomfort would be over, who knows illness straightaway came afterward as soon as the heat starts to recede.
Similar to 5 years ago when I flew to China and came back, i became sick for three days.
By the way, I want to warn WOW fans, hordes players might not like this book, because the author also dislikes those sides.
I remember once before Jaina didn't side with her father, I complain about her virgin character a lot. And sure enough, she lost everything. She thought they have changed and never realized, it's hard for adults to change their perceptions.
Orcs invaded other homelands and brought destruction. Later on, they portrayed themselves as someone suited to live in Azeroth. These are my thoughts, but I don't hate them. It's just uncomfortable to watch as the author started playing from Warcraft I to III.
