At breakfast that day, Aldric sat rigidly, his jaw clenched and eyes stormy with barely contained anger. Every movement he made was tense, his hands gripping the silverware with enough force to turn his knuckles white. 

Aldric had still not gotten over the cruel joke Azula pulled on him earlier that morning. The dark Fae prince had never felt such desperation — How he wished Islinda was back! He could not describe the joy that had filled his heart. 

But it turned out to be a joke in the end. That small joke had hurt him and he was forgiving Azula anytime soon. That plan Maxi had communicated to him was definitely not happening anytime soon.

Across from Aldric, Azula seemed oblivious to his seething mood, a playful smirk dancing on her lips. She delicately picked at her food, her gaze occasionally flicking to Aldric with a glint of amusement. The tension between them was so palpable that it cast a heavy silence over the meal.
