CHAPTER 6 _ SUPER FOOD DETECTOR

" Why are you still sitting, go open the door for him". Anna was already used to her son's strange way of behaving.

It wasn't the first time he acted this way. Lucian has always been able to sense people approaching them from afar. When they went to the woods to fetch logs, he was able to detect dangers from wildlings around. Anna and Liz had no idea how he could do that. The strangest part was that he could even read their thoughts, and Anna and Liz realized this when he would reply to sentences they had thought in their heads or act according to their thinking.

Anna always felt uncomfortable about that, so she warned him to stop since it meant he was invading their privacy. It was hard for Lucian at the beginning, since he will subconsciously still reply to their thoughts. Anna kept rebuking him, and gradually he stopped. She couldn't tell whether he had learned to control it or if he just decided to ignore them. Either way, she was glad. At least she no longer felt uneasy knowing her son would know her thoughts at any moment. She didn't want her son to know the trouble she was going through. So most of the time she tried to suppress her thoughts when he was around as she wasn't sure if he could still hear them or not. Hence, she didn't bother asking how he knew it was Nate.

Lucian stared at the half-finished food in front of him and stood up reluctantly and headed for the door.

He opened the door and glared at the boy who stood there with a goofy smile on his face.

Not bothering to look at the glaring face before him. Nate tried to force his way into the cottage as Lucian was blocking the entrance with his body.

Lucian was known for his great strength which was beyond the age of a boy like him. Since he felt annoyed leaving his food halfway, he decided to vent his anger on his poor friend. He was the course after all. Although he had opened the door, he still stood ramrod, blocking the entrance, and no matter how hard Nate tried, he couldn't get in.

" Little god, sto...stop blocking my way, I smelt Aunt Anna's food a mile away I.. I.. can't miss it. " Nate said still trying to struggle his way through. Lucian rolled his eyes. Every time Nate got here, he claimed to have smelt his mother's food a mile away, and he was always right since his mother would have made a dish by then. He wondered if it was a special ability. The ability to detect distant and nearby food. Because honestly speaking it was very effective. He never missed the opportunity to fill his stomach.

" Lucian why block the entrance, let your friend in " Anna spoke seeing the scene there.

Lucian gave way and Nate rushed in like he was being chased. Lucian was amused. He liked Nate a lot. He was the only one who had stuck to him and showed no fear toward him at all. All the other kids were either scared of him or treated him like a freak. Others went as far as to bully him, nicknaming him the devil. While Nate will try to defend him.

Sometimes he was also bullied because of him, and Lucian always felt bad about that. He tried

pushing him away as he realized Nate always met trouble when he was with him. But the guy was sticker than glue. He always stuck to him no matter what, and eventually, he gave up trying to end their friendship, which he was glad he did. Though Nate could be extremely annoying, he didn't want to lose a friend like him. Lucian followed Nate who was getting hyper at the sight of food. He shook his head.

He was going to get killed with food one day.

" Aunt Ann, you must have prepared your delicious food again, the aroma just calmed the storm outside. " Nate said with glittering eyes. Lucian rolled his eyes. The storm outside ?? more like the storm in his stomach.

Anna laughed

" Yes, my dear Nate, there is a lot in the kitchen for you. " Anna said and stood up to fetch some rice in the kitchen for him.

" That's my favorite aunt," Nate said gingerly getting a seat behind the dining table for himself.
