A bond

"Yay! It's salary day!" Maria skipped into the room.

"…!" Endrick was startled, he just looked at her.

Seeing his reaction, Maria burst out laughing.

She threw a shopping bag at him. "I got that for you, get prepared and wear it, we're going out this night".

'Going out?' Endrick's first instinct was to reject his friend immediately.

Having just discovered exactly what was wrong with him the whole time after his first red card and loss of the season, all that occupied his mind was on how he would start working hard to improve his skills and get closer to his goal.

Hearing Maria's words, a phrase dominated his mind.

'Get behind me Satan!' He almost blurted it out but he held himself back.

In the end, he said nothing as he looked at the shopping bag that was just thrown on his bed, this was when he noticed what Maria wore.

Looking up once more, he had to do a double-take to make sure that this was the same Maria that he knew.
