The palace was slightly bigger than the one at Aeradon, and its interior design was one of a kind, unlike Aeradon, the Tersian palace was ten times grand and the entire kingdom itself were rich.

"You two must behave yourself in the presence of the king if you want to be treated like a normal person, else I may be asked to throw you into the dungeon," he instructed us and we both nodded our heads in agreement.

We walked through the long hallway to the throne room and from afar, the person on the throne looked familiar but as I got closer, the King was not who I had imagined.

"Greetings my King," he saluted the king and I bowed my head in honor.

"And this is the Princess of Aeradon?" He asked and the knight replied with a yes.

" Come forward," the king ordered Princess Agatha she was a bit hesitant at first but she agreed after the knights gave her an eye warning signal.

"You look beautiful and I must say that your father cherishes you so well," he remarked, which I never expected.

" But I don't care! " He said that in a loud voice that didn't startle me only, even the Princess was taken by surprise.

"If your father decides to be stubborn, then he doesn't cherish you as much as you thought and I don't care whether my son likes you or not because who knows, he may have fallen for you but when something needs to be done, I don't care who dies because I will kill for it," he smiled devilishly as he said those words and that creeped me out.

"Azrael!" He called out to the knight,

"Take them to the secret chamber, the highest place in the palace," he ordered and peered at us with an evil grin on his face.

"Yes your majesty, but before I leave, there is something you must see," the knight handed the scroll one of his men had brought earlier when we were on the road.

The king gasped as he read what was written on it.

"Burn it!" He ordered.

"Burn it until every last bit of it becomes ashes, " he added.

"Yes my King, follow me!" He told us and we did but I did not stop thinking about the content of the scroll.

He led us towards a staircase that took us upward as if we were headed for the rooftop but we stopped before a door by our right and he took out a bunch of keys.

There were several keys in that bunch, about a hundred if I wasn't exaggerating so I wondered how he was going to find the right one for the door but he inserted the first key he touched into the keyhole, and the door was unlocked.

"Go inside," he urged us and as soon as we stepped in, he locked the door from outside instantly and left me and the princess alone in that room that had been abandoned for who knew how long.

The first thing my face met was a cobweb which I tried to take off with my hands, even the princess had a look of disgust on her face but there was nothing we could do.

Things that was needed to clean the room were standing by a corner, a broom, and a mop with a bucket, I quickly fetched some water from the bathroom and mopped the door after I had swept it.

The Princess sat on the bed and watched me as I did everything, I did not complain as I was already used to it, besides even though we were captured I still looked at her as the princess Agatha that I was made to serve.

I looked inside the wardrobe and was lucky because I saw a bunch of clean clothes and bedsheets so I changed the present one but the room smelt of so much dust because the windows were barely opened well enough to let the dust-out and fresh air in.

The window was too high for me to touch with my hands so I grabbed the broom and tied it up with the mop at both ends using a piece of clothing I found in the wardrobe I was able to reach the windows and open them properly, and the room got a lot brighter.

"You always remain a hardworking Sage, I admire that," the prince remarked and it was the first time she did.

"It is my duty Princess, I would never neglect it," I said.

"No, I envy your hard work, you can do a lot of things on your own, and in a few minutes you have turned this place into a living paradise, whereas I watched with keen interest and could not do anything to assist."

To be honest I was glad that the Princess realized that she has been lazy all her life but I still had to act like a handmaid and told her not to worry about it.

A few minutes passed and I was able to complete the cleaning because I cleaned the bathroom as well, and when I was done, I was so exhausted that I laid down on the floor immediately.

I was about to close my eyes to get a little sleep because it has been a long stressful day but the sound of someone unlocking the door caused a frown to appear on my face.

The door opened and two men stood there, one was a knight and the other wore an apron, but both of their faces were covered so I could not identify them,

"The king instructed us to bring food for you," one of them said and tried to walk into the room.

" You don't have to do that," I said and tried to take the food from him but he struggled with me.

He pushed me backward into the room and the knights walked in with him as well I panicked because I only thought of the worst that could happen.

"Leave us alone,'' I yelled but the knights closed the door and locked it behind him so that none of us could escape.

And I thought that was it, our bodies trembled as we thought that we were about to be taken advantage of by two men but our jaws dropped when they took off their masks, it was Adriel and Allesio
