81.3 Action

Another wave of grief rolled off of the teen as she let out a regretful sigh. For a second, I almost thought I saw sparks of electricity bouncing off of her and into the air around her. The smell of ozone permeated her small corner of the vehicle, the Primzahl looking at the rations I just gave her with tear-filled eyes as she stared at me straight in the eye.

"Rouge, you've done more than enough for me, and I know this is selfish especially coming from an... enemy..."

Something in my chest sank as I heard the hollow despair coloring her tone. A part of me somehow knew what she was going to ask, and yet I knew that I had to at least hear her out. If I was going to help her fix her mindset, I had to know how bad she had it so that I could know where to begin.

"But I... I'm..."

"It's okay, Alset," I carefully soothed the girl as I moved closer. "Let it out. It'll feel better."
