Chapter 143: Interest In Quincy

Mazuru continued the intense special training for Toshiro.

Toshiro also fought against a captain-level shinigami for the first time. He thought he could become a captain just because he had achieved Bankai, but after fighting against his teacher, he found that that was not the case. Apart from the ability of Zanpakuto, in terms of skills such as Zanjutsu, Shunpo, Kidō, Hakuda, he got beaten unilaterally by Mazuru without gaining the slightest advantage.

Aizen nodded and said, "Compared to the highly hierarchical Soul Society and the barren Hueco Mundo, don't you think the world of living is more interesting?"

"Although the human beings living in it are not as powerful as shinigamis and hollows, occasionally, some miracles will appear in that land."

"Is Mr. Aizen referring to the quincies?" Mazuru asked back.

Mazuru's conjecture caught Aizen a little off-guard. What he wanted to talk about was actually a miracle he discovered recently in the world of living. He really wanted to know how far he could go in the future if he was trained in a targeted manner.

Unexpectedly, Mazuru would think of quincies from his incomplete information.

That woman was a quincy! Not just any quincy but a pure-blooded one. She easily wiped out White with her own power. Of course, as a price, she was also infected by White's power.

Aizen first thought that she would turn into a hollow herself after sometime but with the subsequent monitoring of the world of living, he discovered an unexpected turn of events.

This was also the reason why he said in front of Mazuru that miracles occasionally occur in the world of living.

Aizen asked Mazuru, "Some of the experiments of the Twelfth Division were carried out after the approval of the First Division, especially the ones on the quincies. Because after hearing the words "quincy's hollowfication", he couldn't help but think of the "miracle" born in the world of living.

Aizen said seriously. He has always been a man of action.

He soon began to pay attention to the information about the quincies. Because the hollows wiped out by quincies will completely disappear, affecting the balance of the souls in the three realms, the Soul Society massacred the quincies two hundred years ago, so the Quincy Division that was once able to compete with the Soul Society had gradually withered, moreover there were very few pure-blooded quincies among them. These remaining quincies have been under surveillance of the Soul Society.

(T.L Note: He is Uryu's grandfather. Though Ishida's father also is a pure-blooded quincy but he is here mentioned as last apparently because just after the massacre, Ryuken was not yet born)
