Chapter 48: Just The Four of Us

Andrew’s guards escorted me back to my room and I was happy to see that Trent, Blake, and Cole were all there together in the sitting area. I was happy to see them until I noticed that they were all very upset.

“Are you alright?” Trent asked, hurrying to meet me at the door. “Where did he take you?”

“To his sitting room,” I answered. “We are going on a tour of the kingdom tomorrow.”

“Not alone,” Cole insisted.

“No, you are all coming to escort me,” I assured them, and they seemed to relax.

“I didn’t think that he was going to make such an announcement tonight,” Cole said with a heavy sigh and I looked at each of them in turn.

“He says it was just an announcement and we will work out the details later,” I assured them. “But…”

They all seemed to get tense as they waited for me to finish.

“I think I belong here…”

“Of course you do,” Trent answered. “This is your kingdom.”

“And you don’t have to marry that guy to get it back…” Cole said as if he were reading my mind.
