" That doesn't matter now, weather he stays here or not makes no difference to me because this is his home, this is where he was born and raised " she said looking at the middle age man straight in the eyes of the middle age man who raised his brows in return.
" Him being born and raised here doesn't matter as well " the man replied looking at her with a blank gaze.
"' Really....?" she asked raising her brows in question as well.
"Yes" she heard the man responded.
"I see " she muttered which they heard clearly since she wanted them to.
" So if I had brought his corpse for you or to this place would you still say such things to me...? Would you have given me his corpse to me to bury....?" she asked the man.
"And who do you think you're to question my father in such manner...?" a voice of a young man asked from upstairs followed by several footsteps in tow.
The young lady watch as he descended the stairs. She waited patiently for him to descend the stairs and came to a stop in front of her followed by an old couple and a young woman.
She raised her brows at him as if telling him . "I wasn't talking to you Mister.." The young man's hand she was holding tightened slightly around hers which made her turned to look at him.
The young man starred at the lady who was trying to help him with a subtle look in his eyes which she understood but she wasn't relenting. Not now. Not ever.
She turned back to the middle age woman and man and said to them.
"Do you have an answer or response to my question or not....?" she asked the man ignoring the young man who interrupted her speech earlier.
The middle age man stood there not knowing how to answer that question she had asked earlier. He was really nervous about how he would give her the right response.
"I asked you a question earlier miss or did I not ..? " the young man who just came interrupted again which made the lady released a sigh of tiredness as well as frustration.
"Looks like I can't do this in peace " she thought looking at the young man in the eyes.
"I'm not talking to you nor am I here to have a chat with you young man so don't dare to interrupt my conversation with your father " she said in a calm tone to the young man from earlier.
The cold tone she used on him surprised everyone there including the person she had brought to talk things out with his family.
"And...." he young man started to say but the young lady raised her hand silencing him on the spot.
"Not another word. Otherwise you wouldn't like me " she stated coldly before turning to the middle age man who was his father.
"Back to business" she muttered with a friendly smile looking at the middle age man.
"Since you can't answer the question I asked earlier... I will help you to do it " she said to him.
"Have you ever read the bible before...?" she asked the man.
Yes I have, he replied sincerely.
"And have you ever read the prodigal son before...?" she asked again which the man shook his head at.
"Oooh I see, you should research it on Google and read it whiles he takes his bath and have a change of clothes " she told the man leaving no room for further discussion.
"After you're done reading it we can continue this chat " she added before turning to look at the person she was speaking for.
"Let's get you to your room to have a bath . You're starting to catch a cold " she told him in a worried tone.
The young man was really in disbelief. What he couldn't do was what this lady did within few minutes. If someone had told him that a stranger would help him out one day he would have slap the person in the face directly without hesitation.
The young man nodded at what she said before glancing at his family briefly.
"Common let's go" she edged which he did .
The family watched as the duo walked upstairs whiles the young man who was ignored by the young lady earlier took his phone out of his pocket and ordered his subordinate to dig into the lady's identity.
"I like her" the old man who came downstairs earlier said with a smile while his wife hummed in agreement as well.
"She cool but fierce" the old woman commented with a laugh.
"Mom and dad can you please stop it already..." the middle age man in a helpless tone which made them laugh again.
"I think you should do your research before she comes back downstairs son" his mother said with a smirk which made the middle age man released a sigh of helplessness while taking out his cellphone from his back pocket to conduct his research.
"Why is big brother wet... and the lady as well...?" the young woman who came downstairs earlier threw a question at them which made everyone shrugged as if asking "How are we supposed to know the answer to the question you're asking...?
The middle age man who has been quite asked her own question which silenced everyone.
"Why didn't he come back with that person and why is he even with another person...?" she asked with a frown.
"We'll find out about that later" the old couple chorused after a moment of silence which they all nodded at.
"I hope this is going to be good. I don't want another drama " the middle age woman muttered before going back to the kitchen.
**** While upstairs...****
The young man lead the way to his room and they both entered the large room at the end of the corridor on the third floor, he let go of her hands and entered the bathroom to run the bath for her.
"Go and have your bath first okay,"he said to her before disappearing into the walk-in closet in the room, while the young lady stood up to have a quick bath so that the young man would also have his.
The young lady came out after fifteen to twenty minutes in a white bath robe, she saw the young man standing on the balcony of the room with his cold clothes still on him.
She walked up to him and said; I've run the bath for you, go and have a bath. It will help you relax " She told him snapping him out of his thoughts which he was grateful for.
He walked into the room and vanished into the bathroom after telling her to wear the clothes on his bed.
The young lady pick up the clothes and walked into the closet to get dressed. She came out wearing a white shirt which reached above her knees, he also added a Short to it which she was sure he bought when he was a teenager.
She walked out of the room wearing his oversized flip-flops whiles she put tied up her slightly wet hair on top of her head. She took the stairs even though there was an elevator.
The old couple, middle age man and the two youngsters were sitting in the large sitting room in silence when they heard soft footsteps approaching them.
They all turned to the stairs to look at the slender figure of the young lady in a man's white shirt descending the stairs.
She stopped in front of them and asked the young woman with a smile.
" Eeerrrrmmm can you show me to your kitchen sis " She asked the young lady sitting in the middle of the four people .
"Okay...." the young lady replied softly before standing up to lead the way.
"What's your name...?" she asked the person in front of her suddenly.
"I'm Mirabelle" she replied politely.
"Nice name," she commented which made Mirabelle smiled.
She followed her to the kitchen where there were maids busy preparing dinner for the family.
The young lady went straight to the kitchen counter to pick up some ingredients before proceeding to wash them in the sink under running water.
Everyone watch her in puzzlement including the middle age woman as she did everything in a swift motion.
Within twenty minutes she brewed some wired looking tea and poured it into two mugs.
She placed them on the serving tray and said with a smile. " Sorry for the interruption " while she carried away the tea .
"Mira ....do you know her name...?" the middle age woman asked looking at her daughter.
"No mom. I don't but I will " Mirabelle replied before bouncing out of the kitchen.
"She's great" Mirabelle's mother said with a smile.
*** While in the sitting room the young man has already arrived downstairs and was sitting facing his family.
Without the young lady there he felt as if he was a prey in a pack of hungry feral wolves . Just as he thought of saying why he was back to his family.... a voice interrupted him.
"Good you're downstairs now " the young lady said with a smile before placing the serving tray in front of him on the tea table.
"This is ginger tea. It will help you with the cold " She told him handing him a mug of the ginger tea.
She picked up her own and took a sip while the young man did same . Everyone starred at them in silence while they sipped their tea.
