-Interlude-

---

(Time Baby POV)

Whenever Bill Cipher attempted to summon his brother back using my help, he almost succeeds. This was proof more than anything of just how dangerous he was. How much power and obsession did it take to reach that far back and pull? And yet, he never makes it quite all the way.

The reason was simple.

Instead of trying to pull forward the Shade of his target, he was trying to grab their soul.

Despite Cipher's claims to the negative, he truly wished to have his brother back.

And that was why it never worked.

Well, never worked for him at least.

Cipher succeeded during his first attempt. But the price of doing so drained him so much that he lost consciousness. He wasn't there to see the result of our combined efforts.

A small blue triangle, his Mind and Soul in fact. The Mind was a given, it had been the point of all this. But the fact that their soul was here unsettled me. It meant that the AXOLOTL had chipped in a dash of his own powers.

The child didn't last long, fading back into the ether. And I was left with a strange realization. Bill had pulled the child out of Time and Space itself. When he faded, he could have gone back to anyWHERE or anyTIME. And frankly, that was precisely what happened.

To put it simply, we lost track of him.

The AXOLOTL was quite distressed to realize this. Especially after Bill apparently asked him about it. The fact that he didn't know where the triangle who was Bill's little brother was... Where he had gone...

Well.

That didn't bode well for either of us. If Bill ever managed to stay conscious through a haunt fest and realize that his precious 'Will' wasn't showing up....

Shit.

We've both agreed to keep quiet about losing track of Will's Soul as we searched for it. Well, I didn't really care personally but the AXOLOTL appeared legitimately distressed over how Cipher would react to finding out his brother's soul was missing. Our current theory was that he had been reborn. Where and when was the main question. Since Ax couldn't Feel him anywhere.

It was such a mess that the AXOLOTL himself informed me that he had lost track of the missing soul. As if I would know any better on where it was. If even the AXOLOTL couldn't find it within all of reality, then perhaps it was no longer in this reality.

When I mentioned that, the AXOLOTL got quiet. Then he simply said -If Bill was unconscious, then he was asleep...-

I asked what he meant. The AXOLOTL rumbled. -If Bill was pulling Will towards himself... Then... Fell asleep... He could have ended up through a Door...-

Well I officially had no idea what he was talking about. But the AXOLOTL looked even MORE distressed now. -I... Need to contact my Alternatives...- he said miserably. -...if any of them would answer...-

Well. This was officially not my problem anymore. I thought this was a terrible idea to begin with and I wasn't going to waste anymore Me on this. I had work to do.
