Chapter 167: Demonstration of power

She has never been able to fully awaken her fruit no matter how much she tried.

Vivi knew that due to her own unique circumstances, it was going to be more difficult to awaken her fruit.

The more potential the fruit had, the tougher would be the task. And because she combined her devil fruit with the god fruit, the potential had skyrocketed.

Luffy will have to reach his absolute limits to awaken his fruit and Vivi will have to do the same.

"Ahhh!" She screamed as the pain invaded her. No matter her tolerance, the pain that came from pushing her powers to this degree was not something she could just shrug off.

Blood poured from her nose and mouth and mixed with the water that now composed her entire body.

"Vivi…"Nami looked at her with worry.

As where the rest of the Strawhats.

"I'm okay…just a bit more…I can feel it!" Vivi keeps her focus on moving the water beneath Kizaru's ship.

Luffy gave her a look of respect and nodded before turning his attention back to the other ship.

She would like to claim to be pushing herself so painfully to her very limits for some noble cause like saving her Captain's brother, who is a nice guy that doesn't deserve to be executed just because the World Government is scared to have another Gold Roger.

The reality is that her motivations are a bit less commendable than that.

Flashes of memories appear at the front of her mind. Her fight with Kizaru two years back keeps repeating in a loop. The one-sided beating, the humiliation, the pain he made her suffer, and how bad he made her look in front of Nami.

The feelings of mild anger are amplified by the God Fruit until they reach untold limits. All of a sudden, Vivi can feel a rage so absolute against her enemy that could not be described with words.

But feelings can be a powerful thing when it comes to making use of devil fruit abilities.

Her white eyes start to shine so brightly that are almost blinding.

Admiral Kizaru and everyone on his ship could see that even from their great distance.

"That kind of monster is that?!" One of the Marines shouted.

Ace also watched in perplexity. He knew his brother was in that other ship but didn't know who was the person moving all that water and casting that white bright light towards them.

Kizaru stood watching too, but the expression on his face was something that his subordinate have never seen before.

It was such that it quickly diverted the attention from Vivi toward their leader in command.

"Sir?, what is wrong?" Asked his second-in-command with concern.

But Kizaru did not answer him, he couldn't take his eyes off Vivi. His eyes were wide open and so was his mouth. It wasn't every day that he witnessed something that shocked him this much. Something that completely broke his compose and calm persona.

"This can't be…"

When he became an Admiral, the Five Elders confided in him some very important secrets and warnings, like events that occurred during the 'Void Century' or the existence of their King Im, although the true identity of their ruler was something that only the Elders knew.

One of the warnings he received was that if he ever encounter someone whose eyes shone with an intensely bright white light that brought unto him a sense of foreboding…he was to immediately inform the Elders, no questions asked. He never thought it would come the day...

"I will have to inform them about this…"

He rather not face whatever was going on that ship. He looked at his second in command.

"Increase the pace! take us-"

Vivi screamed at the top of her lungs as she rose her right hand.

A column of water that looked like a smaller version of the 'Knock up Stream' that took them to Skypiea, appeared beneath Kizaru's ship, catapulting the entire warship into the air and sending everyone flying.

The spectators stood there, looking in shock at what just happened, not able to articulate words.

A giant hand, purely made of water appeared from the surface and proceed to imitate Vivi's left hand as it grabbed onto Ace and tossed him towards them at great speed.

Luffy forgot about everything else going on when he saw his brother. His eyes narrowed as he focused on catching him as soon as he enter his range.

"Come on…just a bit closer!"

"Noo!" Kuzaru shouted. He used his abilities to avoid falling into the cold sea waters.

He saw Vivi's construct grab onto Ace and send him away.

'I cannot let them take him!, He is too important to lose now!'

"Yata no Kagami!"

He created a beam of light that followed Ace's path, intended to catch him midway.

"No, you don't!" The voice of Vivi resounded all over the place.

Two colossal hands of water came from the sea and tried to grab the Admiral.

"Yasanaki no Magatama" He crossed his arms and a barrage of light particles assaulted the water hands, creating countless holes in them and destroying them.

Vivi gave a painful scream as this happened since she could feel everything that happened to her created limbs, like what happened with Robin's abilities. But despite feeling her arms torn to pieces, she did not lose her focus.

A third hand that Kizaru did not predict had risen behind him and taken hold of him.

"You bastard…now you pay!" She screamed with rage.

"Nooo!" Kizaru yelled as the hand brought him down into the waters where he lost the use of his abilities and sank down like a brick.

Once this was done, she was forced to release her transformation, her powers were exhausted as they had never been before.

Her naked form collapsed on the ground and was quickly caught by Nami.

"Gomu Gomu no…!" Luffy extended his arms and caught his brother Ace before bringing him on the ship.

Marco had just arrived with a very bloodied Kid, who had no idea what happened until he saw Ace being held by Luffy and Vivi being held by Nami.

"You smell…good…" Vivi said softly as she felt her consciousness slip away while in Nami's arms.
