Without You

Safira clutched her heart, knowing what she was about to do next would break him as much as it would break her. She looked up at him, looking deep into his eyes.

"Damien. Maybe… perhaps it's better if we aren't together."

Her voice was shaking as she spoke. More tears threatened to roll down her cheeks as her vision began to blur.

"No, absolutely not," Damien declared firmly as he cupped his mate's face in his hands.

He wiped away her tears and drew her into his arms once more.

"Don't you dare leave me, Safy," he whispered into her ear as he held her tightly.

He was afraid she would run away the moment he loosened his grip on her. If she disappeared from his line of sight, he might never see her again.

"I can't live without you," he confessed.
