Meeting With The Alpha

'The full moon?' The words rang continuously in her head, reminding her that it was time to try out her second technique. Though she knew how dangerous it was to try it she was more determined to know their secret than keep herself safe.

"If I were not here with you, she would have fed you to her intestines, woman."

Hazel noticed that he was behind her and holding his bloodied palm right on top of her mouth, realising this terror, she immediately pulled away from his grasp.

"Did that little thing scare you?" She heard the Beta's voice beside her. It was filled with mockery and coldness of some sort that all she wanted to do was to hit something hard for being this humiliated.

She spat out a mouth full of saliva which for sure contained the werewolf blood which she had tasted from his palm.

The atrocity of whatever just happened now still replayed in her head and she tried her possible best to stay away from him. She had no idea that the werewolves also fed on vampires. If not, how could that maid have almost fed on her? How could that even be possible?

"I don't feed on dead meat, you don't have to freak out, yet," he said, his voice sounding like all he was trying to do was to soothe her fear but then, she was not daft to the extent that she could not figure out that there was an underlying mockery in those words of his.

Hazel ignored him and only looked at the dungeon's entrance.

Spotting where her eyes were pinned, he took the dye that was on the floor and held it to her, "Apply this every day if you want to be alive till whenever."

Hazel only looked at the dye with intense disgust. It reminded her that something was sticking out from her skin and making her feel the least comfortable. She wondered if her birthmark could cause danger for their alpha. If that were true, what kind of danger? How could she use that to her advantage? That was all she needed to know right now.

"What if I don't apply?" She said and was met by a gruesome gaze from him. His eyes which were once focused on the maid he had dealt with slowly walked back to her and then he uttered,

"Try doing that first and see," he answered. "Unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to tell because I will take judgment into my own hands as I do. If Alpha Lucifel becomes aware of your birthmark, I shall give you the most torturous punishment ever, and not only that, I shall ensure that I wipe off every member of your clan, including the unborn young ones by myself."

Just Immediately after he said this, there was a noise from the entrance and he walked to it, telling her to follow behind.

Hazel's mind had not zoomed off from all that he had mentioned right now. It made her even more curious about why her birthmark should be hidden from him but still, his words threatened her to the very bit of her spine that she found it hard to disagree with him, especially for now.

He opened the dungeon's door and a random breeze caught up with her. She breathed in slowly as she walked out of the dungeon. She had forgotten the foul smell in the dungeon.

"The full moon is up and all the pack members have gathered in the pavilion. Alpha Lucifel instructed me to bring the prisoner to him instead while he wants you to oversee the ritual for this night, My Lord."

Ethan took a last glance at Hazel before he walked to the eastward side of the corridor.

Hazel did not condone the glare she had seen on him just before he walked away. Just by looking at him, that memory of him ripping off the maid's head came to her mind again. She could not let that happen to her. It seemed that the beta of the Blood moon pack is the most terrific member of the clan.

By now, she decided to comply and focus on what she had planned to do to the alpha of the pack when the full moon rises. Though she was not prepared as her mother had no idea when the full moon would uprise, she had no choice.

After some minutes, she and the guard stopped at another entrance of a dungeon. She knew that this would be where she would be staying at till whenever as it seemed that this is where the alpha wanted her to stay.

The guard had not spoken anything since and Hazel noticed that compared to the guard who was named Oran, he did not drag her but instead, stayed some feet apart from her as if he had no fear that she could escape. Hazel was not so slow to understand that he might be holding his urge to eat her flesh.

Everything she found here was just so unbelievable. She had no idea that the werewolves could find the vampiress flesh enticing, let alone their flesh eatable.

Hazel looked at the entrance in amazement, this time, there was no door in it. She looked at the guard who seemed to expect her to do something that she didn't even know. But at last, he said, "Go in, you will meet his highness."

Hazel looked into the dungeon and saw that the entire dungeon was black. As a vampiress, she was able to see in darkness but due to the effect of the medicinal herbs they had taken to enforce immortality, their night vision had welled off slowly.

"It is dark."

"Yes it is but there is a light source if you go deep. I can't follow you in."

"Why?" She asked but the guard had already walked away from her.

Hazel did not understand if all that was happening was because of the full moon or if he just didn't want to enter the dungeon because he had a lot to do. But then, she did not understand how he trusted her to enter the dungeon when he was not here with her. Did they not think that she could try to escape?

Putting that aside and focusing on what she planned to do tonight, she stepped into the dark dungeon and walked inside. She was sure that whatever she wanted to do was going to counter the effect of the full moon on them without their awareness.

She had longed to see who exactly the alpha is and watch him suffer in pain just like he and his pack members did to her.
