Real if He wanted to

"Are you okay?" Lyle's soft voice jolted Davy awake, and he lifted his head and looked at his side.

"I'm fine," Davy said, nodding and smiling softly. However, he appeared to be distracted as he played with the food on his plate.

"Are you sure?" a deep voice asked, and Davy couldn't help but look in that direction. He was met by his calm blue eyes, but Davy did not lock gaze with him. He had the inkling that if he met those eyes directly, Fallan would immediately tell that something was wrong with him.

Davy pursed his lips as he nodded once more. In fact, he had no idea why he was distracted. When he woke up earlier, tears were flowing from his eyes. He tried everything he could to remember what he had dreamed about, but he couldn't. Davy, on the other hand, was certain he had dreamed of something significant. If that were the case, why would he cry in his sleep?

Even though he was aware that the three Supremes' attention was on him, he didn't lift his head and continued to pretend to eat. Fortunately, no one forced him to admit what he was feeling, not even Draven, the most annoying of the three.

They were enveloped in silence. In fact, they were mostly silent while eating. It was just that this silence was a little uncomfortable. Davy was still aware of the three men's glances at him, but he ignored them. He despised the fact that he didn't know what was wrong but was certain that something was wrong.

"Where do you want to go?" Fallan's deep voice rang in his ears, and this time Davy lifted his head and met his blue eyes. His tone was still calm, even though it was a little careful.

Davy became distracted for a moment as he stared at Fallan before responding, "Anywhere..." His tone remained mellow; he couldn't think of anything.

"How about in the throne room?" A loud voice interrupted, and Davy recognized the speaker right away. He cast a glance at the source of the voice, Draven, whose painted arms were currently resting on Lyle's shoulder. Lyle was also unconcerned, his arms crossed across his chest.

"Right? You haven't visited it yet," Draven continued.

The Throne Room? Davy considered it, and it appeared that he had yet to visit this location. And just by looking at the name, he could tell how important this room was. Davy was pulled from his thoughts once more by a hand caressing his hair.

He raised his head and locked eyes with Fallan.

The man gave a small smile and asked, "What do you think?" Davy couldn't think any longer and nodded in agreement.

***

Davy stood in awe of the room's beauty, which could only be described as majestic. He didn't say anything and simply looked around the room. For some reason, his heartbeat was constantly rising as he looked at the room as if he were very familiar with it.

His brow furrowed slightly; it was the same as before. Davy again had a deja vu moment, as though... He had been here. He pursed his lips as he clasped a hand to his chest. Where was this feeling coming from?

"You don't like it here?" A deep voice jolted Davy awake, and he looked to his side.

There, Fallan was also standing close to him, even though their shoulders were not really touching. Davy didn't meet his blue eyes right away because the man was also looking in front of him.

A few moments later, Fallan turned to face him, and their gazes locked.

Davy did not respond immediately, and they simply stared at each other. He bit his lower lip before averting his gaze and returning his gaze to the front. His black-golden eyes were fixed on the statue before him.

He shook his head, "I don't." He lowly whispered, It was a lie. It wasn't that he didn't like it... It was more like he was confused. Despite the fact that Davy couldn't see Fallan's face, he was aware that Fallan was staring at him.

"Why?" Fallan inquired, almost in hushed tones.

Davy's eyes blinked, then he stared at the statues. There were four statues, and they were so lifelike. As if they were truly alive. Davy could recognize all of them at a glance. The three Supremes and... him--his character. He couldn't take his gaze away from his statue, as if it had some sort of hypnotic spell over him.

"Is it okay to be familiar with something even if you haven't seen it?" he asked instead of answering Fallan's question.

He fiddled with the hem of his dress once more, until a hand reached out and grabbed his hand. Davy turned to look at his hand, which was now being held by Fallan, then lifted his gaze to meet Fallan's blue eyes once more. Fallan's expression remained calm, and it never failed to soothe his emotions. His heart rate gradually slowed down. While he remained uneasy, Davy began to relax.

Fallan squeezed his hand slightly as if reassuring him. While staring at Davy, his blue eyes remained as calm as ever.

Before responding to Davy's question, he said, "Perhaps it wasn't the first time you saw it? That's why you're familiar with it." His voice was deep, and even the tone remained the same, but Davy sensed something was different.

He couldn't pinpoint it, even if he wanted to... As if something within him was preventing him from truly comprehending those words.

Davy's lips parted as he was perplexed by this response. However, he thought it made sense. His brow furrowed, and he quickly returned his gaze to the front as he gazed at the statues, particularly his own character's statue.

Familiarity... Was this his own feeling or that of his character? He didn't know. He was so confused. If it was his... Why would he feel familiar with something he'd never seen before? At this, Davy unconsciously gripped Fallan's hand as his heart accelerated again.

Wait? Had he seen it before? He stared at the statue, trying to recall whether he had seen it before. His brow furrowed even more, but his eyes squinted from the sudden pain in his temple as he forced himself to remember. It throbbed no matter what he did, as if there were a barrier between him and that memory that he was powerless to overcome.

A groan escaped his lips, and his head began to ache. His grip on Fallan tightened as he was pulled into an embrace. He froze, and his thoughts stopped. As he wasn't trying to remember anything anymore, in an instant, the throbbing in his head stopped.

"You don't have to force yourself," Fallan's deep voice rang in his ears as his hands stroked Davy's back.

Davy bit his lower lips as he reached out and clutched Fallan's clothes. He had no idea why the corners of his eyes had moistened. It was so frustrating to be aware that something was wrong but have no idea what it was.

Was being in the virtual world for long enough to completely make him insane, or what? Why was he being like this? Davy didn't want this feeling.

"I'm always confused, and I hate it," Davy muttered, he buried his face in Fallan's chest. He truly hates it. Ever since he became trapped in the virtual world, Davy had begun to be confused about his own emotions or his character. What was his own, and what wasn't? What was real, and what wasn't?

Fallan patted his back and caressed his hair. Davy shut his eyes and let Fallan coax him.

"Are you really not real?" Davy muttered out of nowhere, it was something he refused to acknowledge himself. However, he often wondered about it. He sometimes suspected that the three of them were real and that he really transmigrated to another world, just like those in the novels.

Fallan's hand paused for a moment before continuing to brush Davy's hair, "We could if you want us to," he replied, his tone a little low.

Davy pulled away slightly and stared at Fallan, their eyes met. He didn't speak for a moment. Fallan's answer reminded him of what Lyle had said before. Davy reached out his hand and touched Fallan's cheeks. He blinked, and they stared at each other for a moment.

"Hm, you're real." He nodded as he caressed Fallan's cheek. Davy had a realization, why would he complicate things? If he wanted them to be real, then they would be real for him. It doesn't matter.

"Yes, we're real," someone interrupted, and Davy looked to the side. Standing there were Draven and Lyle, the two watched him and Fallan. Draven wore a grin, and Lyle's lips curved in a gentle smile as he looked at them.

Davy looked at them for a moment, swallowed, then returned his gaze to Fallan. His blue eyes were fixed on him, and Fallan also gave a small smile. Davy's chin trembled as the corner of his eyes moistened. Still, he tried hard not to cry.

Instead, he smiled widely and nodded. As he was also embraced from behind, he was surrounded by the three as he laughed. This warmth... Davy thought it was worth it as a price for deceiving himself.
