Having finally introduced themselves gave everyone a moment to look around, finding themselves in a forest.
"This world, the Mana, seems a lot thinner and hard to describe compared to my world."
Even though Rias primary use of Demonic Energy was still able to sense Magical energy in the surroundings and gauge that it was different from her own universe. The Mana was too thin yet was somewhat harmful to anyone who's body isn't adapted to mana. The energy normally won't be harmful but it seems to be rapidly absorbed by normal people.
"Indeed, it appears to be a lot more chaotic than our world. Though, the energy we use is called Ethernano and our body developed a reservoir to help us adapt."
Erza gave her opinion on the matter as she read in her book that they're also other energies called Spiria, a type of spiritual energy found in another dimension within her world.
"I can see that it could cause normal civilians if they stayed in an area that is highly concentrated with mana."
She added since in her world they are people who have developed sickness if they're body isn't able to keep up with an abundant source of mana. An example of this is Ultear when she was still young.
"That's why people in this world develop those magic sleeps?"
Shinobu tried to recall the name since she didn't really read it that much.
Eternal Slumber is a sleeping disorder that first appeared when humanity was exposed to the existence of Magic Beasts. Those who come down with this disease are intolerant to mana and as a result, they typically begin to develop symptoms after being exposed to a human who radiates mana, namely a hunter, for an extended period of time.
Initially, the victim will begin to pass out against their will for much longer than normal before fully succumbing to the disease's effects and falling into a coma.
On top of causing its victims to lose consciousness permanently, Eternal Slumber also quickly drains its victims of their life force. As a result, unless they are hooked up to life support devices powered by essence stones, the disease will magically suck them dry and they will die.
Unfortunately, these devices are not known for being cheap and as a result, many people have died from the disease as a result of their relatives not being able to afford a device. Due to humanity's still-lacking knowledge on the practical applications of mana.
"As expected, humans can be so fragile to actually fall ill in measly mana."
Lucifer mockingly says insulting humans since she is a devil who personifies Pride and finds it funny how they would become sick from a small amount of mana. Hearing this made Erza and Shinobu annoyed at her words and glared at her who was unfazed since she was the strongest among them even though Ryuu can't defeat her in a frontal way.
"We humans may be weak but you shouldn't underestimate us!"
Shinobu took out her Zanpakuto and was prepared to challenge her, causing Lucifer to smile, enjoying her reaction. Rias doesn't know which side she should be on since she is a devil and how much you look at it. Humans are fragile and weak even how much she denies it, in her world they became just servants to other races.
The reason why Erza wasn't even willing to make a fuss about it is because she hadn't experienced what Shinobu had to go through. Even though long has passed, Shinobu is still hurt by Demons and her trauma is still lingering there because no matter how strong someone is, they cannot ever escape the past.
Ryuu watched the two frown and went to chop Shinobu's head to stop her and cause her to wince in pain before looking at him.
"Why did you hit me, Ryuu-kun!?"
She asked pouting a bit to him and he immediately went to pat her head to calm her down, making the other sweat dropped.
"I stopped you because you were releasing too much mana. And as for you, Lucifer, you should stop teasing them or I'll stop making you pancakes."
Lucifer's haughty expression immediately shifted into dread, afraid that the delicious pancake that Ryuu made would disappear from her grasp.
"No! I will listen, just don't ever stop making pancakes for me!"
She panics knowing that no normal human could contend with how delicious his food is. It was all thanks to his [ Cooking (High Tier 6-A) ] that was too otherworldly that could only be described as the most tempting delicacy.
Rias and Erza looked at each other who couldn't believe how easily she was tamed by Ryuu. Lucifer saw his expression as if one more would be the end of her.
"What do you need me to do!? Apologize to her!?"
"Yes."
Lucifer paused since she was too prideful but her arrogance is like that of Tsundere who just can't show their true feelings. Shinobu saw her reaction was smirking with an expression of 'Gotcha bitch'.
The CEO of Hell saw this made her grit her teeth and push aside her pride bowing to Shinobu.
"I…I-I….dammit…I'm sorry for being right."
"Lucifer!"
"Alright alright! I'm sorry for my mistake! there, happy!?"
'I can't unsee my view of Satan now….'
Rias inwardly thought of Lucifer Tsundere's personality. Ryuu sighs knowing that her view and mindset was too different from normal humans. It's not because she is not willing, it is just her nature to act this way. She's not human but a devil therefore her standard is not the same as mankind.
"If you're going to apologize, do it right, you Tsundere devil!"
Shinobu shouted at her.
"Who are you calling, Tsundere!"
Lucifer yelled back glaring at each other as if lightning clashed with each other. Ryuu just sweat dropped and just coughed loudly to get their attention.
"Alright, you two can continue arguing. We still have things to do."
The two heard him and stopped, they were still not backing down to prove who's right.
"Hmph, just know I'm just doing this because I want my pancake."
"If you keep acting that way then you'll never experience true bliss in bed."
Boink!
"Why did you hit me again and not her!"
"You realize we're not the only ones here!?"
Shinobu turned to look at Rias who blushed hearing her words while Erza was able to hide it even though she was also curious about his performances. On the other hand, Lucifer was speechless realizing that it was true that they were primarily human women in his harem.
"Weren't you planning on adding them? There's no point in acting shy around them."
She refuted looking at Rias winking at her who looked to the side blushing while Erza seemed to not mind only fueled by curiosity.
"Stop that! We already got sidetracked again. Let's discuss our course of action then."
Ryuu changed the subject making Shinobu giggled since he didn't try to deny it knowing that they'll eventually fall into his hands.
"Now, Lucifer, can you use magic to hide your horns and tails to appear more human?"
"Normally I won't do this but very well."
Lucifer cast some magic, turning herself to appear more human, hiding her horns and tails, making her appear like a normal young woman with white hair wearing a business suit. Ryuu gave a nod seeing her change then turned to others.
"Any suggestions on what we should do for a moment?"
He already had some plans but it wouldn't hurt to ask for their opinions. Ryuu is trying not to become a lone wolf doing everything alone just because he can.
"Well since we don't know where the Monarch is hiding but wait…does the ruler know we're here?"
Rias exclaimed thinking about The Ruler, Entity who are opposite of the Monarch. If the Monarch represents Evil then Rulers represent Good. They had been at war against the Monarch for countless years in numerous worlds where earth is their primary battlefield.
They are the reason why there are hunters and mana exist because by doing so helped strengthen the world to avoid its impending destruction against the great war. This entity cannot roam the world without a vessel.
They can only observe and wait until an appropriate time to take action. Even if they had sense them none would take the risk in descending to fight them.
"We shouldn't worry about them. The Ruler won't likely descend because of our present if we don't cause too much commotion. As for the Monarch? Well, they would be the same since preparing for the war is very important for them."
