One more Goldark and Oyster-trap to the string, and the necklace will be ready.
I enter inside the museum type building through the air-vents and walk over the curtains, avoiding all the red lasers.
These lasers might blare an alarm or fry my limbs off, or just do nothing. I still don't know what happens if I touch them, but better be cautious than be curious.
I entered the dim lit room with a wide cylindrical fish tank in the center. The strong green light stung my eyes at first, but now they are adjusted. Not as clear as a day, but still I can perceive almost everything within my vision.
The first thing I saw when I looked at the fish tank was the reflection of a cat. A handsome short-hair cat with fierce eyes and a manly body. God Damn! I am hot.
I climbed onto the top of the fish tank and glared at my prey. The Goldarks swam with their tails hidden at the back to the point farthest from me. Of course, there is no point running away from me once I set my eyes on something.
The poor Oyster-traps clenched shut their shells as hard as a kid hurtling for the toilets. Those spiky things on the shells, will just end up being my tooth picks by the end of the day.
So let's see which shark makes it tonight.
"Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Goldark ; How I wonder if you bark; Down below the tank like you can hide ; Like a..." I felt something behind my neck. A sting. And in an instant I slept like a baby.
.
I gave a necklace of shiny golden pearls to the one woman who stole my heart the second I first set my eyes on her. As expected, she accepted my gesture of love with her soft as cotton candy paws and looked at me with her usual bewitching eyes.
She wore my necklace around her neck, and the necklace gleamed in her beauty. A woman solely made for me.
The handsome me and the goddess-like her, we are the ultimate couple. And we go riding on a fancy yacht, clinking our glasses of red wine.
CLink*Clink*clink.
Stop it, one time is enough.
CLink*Clink*clink.
My hands wont stop.
CLink*Clink*clink. CLink*Clink*clink. CLink*Clink*clink.
My drowsy eyes opened to a blurry scenery, the cold metal chains stung my sensitive skin. It felt like I was sitting on sand paper.
Holy Cat! What the heck.
How did I end up here. Wasn't I sipping wine on a yacht?
The chains bound all my limbs, making me as immobile as an egg.
Mustering up my strength, I freed myself of the chain binding arm.
I heard a low whirring sound, gradually getting louder. It is as if...
Holy Cat! A CAAAAAR!
.
.
Lix's foot pressed on the brakes as soon as she saw a cat on their way up the basement. It was tied up like a ball using metal chains. Despite one of the chains breaking loose, it still struggled to slip loose of them.
The gray short-haired cat looked terrified, as if it was unaware of how it had ended up there. Its fur rubbing against the rough ground, it tried to bite the chains off.
The car's abrupt halt woke up the dreaming sisters. Their heads toppled forward, crashing onto the front seats.
Since Gino didn't wear a seatbelt, he jerked forward, almost tumbling over his seat if not for a white snake which held onto his collar without his knowing. The new pair of aviator sunglasses slipped a half inch down his nose bridge, allowing the cold air from the AC to bombard his naked eyes.
"Did we reach already?," Fairy asked, rubbing her eyes.
"That was fast." Tale stuck out her face beside Gino's head-rest to see the view in front of them.
Gino removed his sunglasses to have a clear look at that thing wiggling in front of them. That cat looked familiar to him, and the red mark on its forehead, it's just like the one in the photo.
"Hey! Is that..."
"Fucking Bitch!" Lix yelled, alerting the sisters. Fairy lowered her window and stuck her face outside.
"What? What happened?" Gino asked a pissed Lix., "Is that the same cat? Let's get it."
"NO!" Lix covered his eyes with her hands before he could unlock his door., "It's not that cat."
"Not now, Lix, I can't see." Gino yanked her hands, but she held on to his eyes.,"Its gonna run away."
A white snake from Fairy's hand shot out of the window, heading straight for the struggling cat. The cat looked even more alarmed when it saw a white snake darting towards it. Inch long nails grew from its paws, readied for self-defense.
Lix still covered Gino's eyes, no matter how much he tried to get free of them.
"Tale, help me." The sister with black hair, who had been sitting there confused and unsure what to do in that situation, grabbed hold of Lix's hands, pulling them away from Gino's face. She wouldn't listen, no matter how many times Lix told her to let go of her hand.
Black scales surfaced on Tale's hand as they transformed into a snake's trunk, curling around Lix's wrists and loosening her grip on Gino's eyes.
A dull but crisp sound was heard when Fairy slapped the back of Tale's head.
"Are you dumb? We can't let him see that."
"Oops! Sorry." Realizing her mistake, now, Tale let loose of Lix's wrists and grabbed a hold of Gino's arms, wrapping them along with his torso.
"What can't you let me see.?" Gino asked as he strained to free himself from the wrapped serpent.
"A naked cat pooping on streets." Lix answered., "It's indecent."
The white snake repeatedly struck the cat on its sides, avoiding its sharp paw blows. Not even once was the cat able to make contact with the snake before it reverted inside the car. '
The cat soon understood that the snake actually liberated it from the cruel metal chains instead of attacking it. As a well-mannered cat who grew up with good morals, it stood up and bowed its head to convey thanks to whoever operated the snake from within the car.
"Fairy, take over." The soft and delicate yet tenacious palms of Fairy now took over the job of covering Gino's eyes, as Lix reached for her gun and pointed it outside the window.
"Get Lost, you Stupid Cat. It ain't your toilet to keep shitting around." Bullets were shot first, and then Lix's words reached its ears. As if pants were on fire, the cat ran away at a speed it never touched.
She put the pistol back in the covert rack of the door and signaled to the sisters that the cat had fled. Putting on his seatbelt and then hers, she sat straight as if nothing had happened.
All this time, Gino threw a fit like a kid, but he went silent after the sisters let go of him.
"Dammit!" Gino slapped his thigh.,"It was the same cat, wasn't it?"
"I don't know what you are talking about? Did you guys see any cat?" Lix lied as clear as a day.
"Nope? Was there supposed to be any cat?" "I was sleeping. I don't know." They lied bluntly.
Gino grunted in displeasure when he saw the seat belt around him.,"Not this again."
A police car honked behind them, which was a signal that they had to move.
"Now, Let's gooo" Lix pressed the accelerator pedal.
.
.
"Why would you let go of it when we could have just locked it inside the trunk till tomorrow evening." Gino chewed on a piece of the pizza.,"Such a waste."
"You say that now, but things would have been different then.," Lix, who sat facing Gino at a circular four-seater table, tried to defend her actions. The sisters first stared at the pizza in front of them and then at Gino, who clearly gave them a cold shoulder.
After that incident, Gino went into silent mode, so Lix ended up telling him the truth after they sat for lunch in an outlet close to the Science Exhibition.
Why was the cat there? Who put it there? Why did they put it there? Lix answered all these questions from her perspective, blaming the Captain. After hearing her out, even Gino was forced to concur with her. Someone planted the cat on purpose.
"Also, don't you think taking a shortcut in your first case itself is a red flag." Lix continued making a clever point.,"Don't you want it to be more dramatic, like, using your brain to look for clues, chasing after suspects and the action, all that stuff."
"Now that you've said it, I think you are right." Gino agreed with Lix, he wanted his first case to be at least a pinch dramatic like the detective shows he watched on OTTs. Fairy snatched the slice of pizza which Gino held in his hand. He went for a new slice of pizza instead of battling for the one he lost, but Tale used a black snake to lift the entire remaining pizza into the air, horrifying the customers.
"A mutant!""RUN!!!" A few terrified individuals ran outside from the farthest exit, while the remaining watched Tale to scrutinize if she was hostile or not.
Mutants were not common, but not rare either. Since the majority of them engaged in wrongdoing, the media has portrayed them as ruthless savages who can rip apart a man with bare hands. Though they weren't completely wrong, the public mistook every mutant as a bad guy, and for someone who'd never met one, their obvious reaction was to flee away from the scene..
"I said I am sorry, please talk to me."
"I am sorry too, don't ignore me." The sisters tried to seize his attention. Fairy jumped from her seat and sat on the table with her face aligned in front of Gino's. "Here, look at me." She held his face with her hands and brought her face closer. Lix stood up to grab another slice of pizza, which was held midair by Tale.
"I don't want to talk with cute little liars." Gino looked eye to eye with Fairy.
"Then why are you talking with Lix? Even she lied to you that time."
"Well..." Gino looked at Lix, but again Fairy turned his head facing her.,"She ain't cute."
Hearing him, Lix stomped his feet from under the table, but Gino evaded her attack and stomped her leg instead. Lix was angered, but he couldn't see that.
"Hey, sister, I think he just called us cute." Fairy pointed out.
"I know. Thanks for the complement, Gino. Let's make up now." Tale tried to feed him her slice of pizza., "Now open your mouth."
"Oh! There it is." Gino cried as he saw something from the corner of his eye. Turning his head he pointed towards the huge window.,"Look!"
Everyone saw in the direction Gino pointed out. A gray cat rubbed its chafed butt as it looked towards the old museum like building.
