Did You Steal This Formula?

As the two of them discussed, Sunny could not help but complain.

"I heard that the injured Aurors are planning to protest to the Ministry. They say that if the Ministry doesn't give them protective equipment, they won't do such dangerous missions anymore…"

"Then you can persuade your executive director to buy more things," Ivan said with a smile.

Sunny stuck out her tongue. She didn't have the guts to try and persuade him otherwise.

Ellison quietly pulled Ivan aside, revealing the Ring of Protection on his right hand.

"Can the protective ring be repaired if it's broken?"

It's broken already? Yvonne wondered.

He used relatively inexpensive materials to make his protective rings, but expected to use them for a year or two.

Only repeated use in a short period of time can cause significant wear and tear.

"You haven't been an Auror for long, have you? Why are you fighting so often?" Ivan asked.

Ellison smiled sheepishly and then proudly recounted his experience.

Due to his protective ring and protective gloves, he was extremely brave in the past few days. He dared to attract the attention of the enemy and was unanimously acknowledged by the other Aurors. Even the Head of Department gave him verbal praise during the meeting!

"I don't think it will be long before I pass the Hitters' review," Ellison said, her face alight with enthusiasm.

Ivan's mouth twitched. He didn't think Ellison would live long enough to become a Beater…

Besides, if he remembered correctly, the last time he was here, Ellison was a coward, wasn't he? Could he have been tricked into becoming lame?

"The protective ring can be repaired, of course, but it's not free. Thirty Galleons a fix," Ivan said after a moment.

Ivan had originally intended to refuse the request to repair the ring, as it would help increase sales, but he thought better of it.

Seventy Galleons was not a small number. If it was damaged and could not be repaired, the other party might not be willing to buy a second one.

So you might as well charge for after-sales services.

"Thirty Galleons? That's a lot of money." Ellison was frustrated. He didn't have that kind of money. The last time he bought a protective ring, he bought it in installments.

"You're losing your job. Wouldn't you ask the department to reimburse you?" Yvonne looked at Ellison, the new Auror, in confusion. No matter how expensive the repairs were, what did they have to do with him?

"You can do that?" Ellison was stunned, and then he realized that he hadn't thought about it before.

Ellison was completely relieved, and then quietly asked if he could wear multiple protective rings at the same time.

After all, in addition to the ones he bought himself, the Ministry would probably give him another when he became an Elite Smasher or an Auror Captain.

Yvonne realised that the man hadn't changed at all. He was still such a wimp…

Equipping multiple magical items at the same time was, of course, possible, but the improvement was not as great as Ellison had thought. Otherwise, Ivan would have gotten himself ten rings, one for each finger…

In the afternoon, after the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic had left, and before Ivan could take a break, Doggett came rushing to the door.

"I've thought of it. I've finally thought of it. We can use calming flowers and sage to suppress the violent elements in the wolf's blood. If we start there, we can produce the finished product in six months at most…"

Doggett explained everything to Ivan, unable to contain his excitement.

Last night, he spent the entire night analysing the ingredients in the wolf's blood, but he was unable to make any significant discoveries. Recalling the herbs Ivan had mentioned earlier, he tested them one by one, and suddenly felt that he had solved most of the research difficulty of the wolf venom potion.

All that was left was to work out the potion's ingredients and experiment with the werewolves.

Doggett felt a surge of pride at the thought, which meant the Order of Merlin was now within reach.

"Oh… I see," Ivan replied mildly.

Ivan's lack of reaction puzzled Doggett, and he was about to question him further when Ivan took a brown test tube out of his wizard's robe and placed it on the table.

"What is this?" asked Doggett, his expression changing.

It couldn't be…Duggart had a theory, but he shook his head.

"It's a wolfsbane potion—" Ivan began.

"Wolf venom potion?!" Dagget exclaimed as he looked at the brown potion on the table.

"So you've finished the product and are ready to experiment?"

Doggett could not believe his eyes when another possibility occurred to him. He glanced around and lowered his voice.

"You didn't steal the recipe from your Potions professor, Snape, while you were at school, did you?"

"How is that possible? I just developed the Wolfsbane Potion last night." Yvonne rolled her eyes. There was no one better than Dougatt at imagining things.

Doggett knew his mistake and smiled apologetically.

It made sense. If Snape had known how to brew the Wolfsbane Potion, he would have announced it to the world.

After understanding this, Doggett was depressed. He had studied and analysed the potion the night before and learned something. He was about to share the good news with Ivan when he found out that Ivan had even managed to brew a finished potion.

Seeing that Doggett's excitement had turned into frustration, Ivan tried to comfort him by telling him that he had been working on the subject since he was in school, and that he had the help of some professors.

Doggett was relieved. As he had said, even a genius could not produce a finished potion in one night.

After a good deal of fooling and disarming Doggett, Ivan grabbed the Wolfsbane Potion he had concocted the night before and headed for the werewolf wizard base.

When they reached the middle of the ruined street, Walker jumped out of a tree on one side.

"Ivan? Why are you here today? I thought we didn't need any more werewolf blood for a while."

Ivan looked up and was surprised to see that, although Walker's face was pale, there was some color in it compared to the day before.

"Yes, that's why we're here today!" Ivan said, taking the Wolfsbane Potion from the pocket of his wizarding robe. The dark brown liquid glistened in the sunlight.

"It's done already?" Walker was surprised. He hadn't expected Ivan to mention it to him the day before.

Could this potion have been concocted randomly?

Walker looked at the Wolfsbane Potion in Ivan's hand and swallowed hard, wondering if he had agreed too quickly.
