Chapter 21 Contract

My name is Yelena Greenwind of Great Forest of West. I was born from a high elf and an elven sorcerer who influenced elven society in our forest.

My parents were doting parents as they gave and taught me everything that I owned and knew. They loved me unconditionally because I was their only child.

The elves had a low birth rate compared to other races due to our genetic problems. We were too similar to faeries and spirits who had almost zero birth rates.

Hence, every elf was an invaluable asset in the great forest and everyone loved each other and respected each other as they lived in peace. However l, I was a different girl. I yearned to go outside and travel beyond my home to see great champions of other races like in myth.

Our greatest champion was our queen and so were other elves. Our most powerful elf would be our leader who was born from our respective life trees or world trees. World trees have been the children of nature and bringers of life since the era of beginning. They withstood against great gods, devils, heroes, and creatures that roamed around the world and space.

Our ancestors saw great serpents and dragons who created stars and forged heavens as Gods resided in them to observe us. They also witnessed great chaos and its children known as devils or demons which lived selfishly and freely in this world.

Furthermore, they saw great heroes and champions fight against each other to keep the balance for their people. That is why they locked away themselves from the outside and lived peacefully inside their great forests.

But, I don't like being caged in like a bird. I wanted to leave my home and see those great beings with my eyes and have a conversation with them.

Oh, great tree. I was wrong. When I left my home like others I believed I could fare better despite my parents' warning. I was confident enough to crush any human and other races.

" You are a fool to believe you can kill me."

A human archmage stood before me while chanting his magic. He bound me to the curse as I lost my ability to use my spirit magic and elemental magic. Without my magic, I only had pure mana and martial arts from my family.

Even so, I lost to the greedy bastard who brought me to the slave market. Thus, I rebelled against my fate as I refused to end up like those pathetic kins of mine. I fought against my masters and feasted on their blood despite being an elf.

I don't fear any blood and I don't adhere to justice and mercy. I will live and die as the elven warrior until I meet him.

A boy with burning eyes that illuminated my dark soul. He was the champion and hero whom I was looking for. He was the protégé of my life and the person who would open the path for our race.

The elementals and spirits joyfully danced around him as the mana embraced him like he was its child. Even nature and gods blessed his soul as he excluded powerful forces that I had never seen before.

I was a child who was blessed by nature and elven God but in front of him, I felt strange. He had the greatest luck in the world but he also had the worst luck. He was blessed by both good and evil gods as his life was mangled between karma.

Also, the woman beside him had a great amount of good karma. She wasn't blessed by Gods or spirits but her talent and conviction were subpar with the greatest heroes in history.

Therefore, I joined in their squad. Their squad was made up of the greatest talent that I could find and each individual was strong enough to reach the pinnacle of their field. An Archer who could shoot down enemies from great distances with flexibility, a man whose strength rivaled that great champions of orcs and beastmen, a girl who had a freezing soul, a girl who had a spark that shone brighter than the sun, a girl whose daggers were deadlier than scythe of Reaper and sibling who were unparalleled.

This was my future family and my journey to reach beyond myth.
