The eyes of the three teenage vampire girls standing under the shady tree were circulated to every street corner, gazing at the passing humans that tantalized their sense of smell. It was as if a spark had burned the throats of the three teenage vampires, causing one of them to take a deep sniff of the air like a hungry cat, then stare at a woman walking past him. A pair of fangs appeared at the same time as Cassandra Victor's hand hit the back of the girl's head.
"What the hell, Cassey?!" The long brown-haired vampire girl's cry of pain got the attention of a woman who almost became a victim of her meal.
"Watch yourself when you're in the midst of human activity, Shane." Cassandra widened her eyes warningly.
The girl on Cassandra's other side giggled softly as she shook her head, making her blonde hair sway over her shoulders.
That morning, Cassandra Victor, Shane Dawson, and Kimberly Brennan, three Hexa vampires who inhabit Granite Falls were releasing boredom by looking at the people passing by around them while occasionally entering shopping centers. As much as possible Cassandra restrained her two best friends from pouncing on the humans around them if they didn't want to deal with vampire hunters who might be near them.
Cassandra's laughter stopped for a moment when a young man with golden brown hair appeared from inside the supermarket. She whispered to code her two friends to land the same gaze on the young man who was none other than Justin Leonidas.
"Aww… am I already in heaven because right now I'm seeing an angel in front of my eyes?" Kim's sighs of interest made Cassandra roll her eyes.
"Justin Leonidas, the most respected vampire hunter in Granite Falls. Look at that beautiful creature." Cassandra straightened her chin without taking her eyes off for a second from Justin who was receiving a call from someone. "So yummy." Cassandra bit her lower lip while crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"I'd be so happy in fondling him if only he isn't a vampire hunter." Beside Cassandra, Shane blew her bangs in frustration.
Sensing that something was watching him, Justin suddenly hung up the phone. His vampire hunting instincts worked like bat sonar in the dark. His eyes fell across the street, where he saw three vampire girls leaning against a low tree trunk, staring at him with interest.
Justin knew one of the girls on the other side very well. The black-brown-haired girl had the sharpest and most alluring gaze among the other vampires of her ilk. The rush of his breath was being toyed with by adrenaline now. His feet moved to chase the three vampire girls. But seconds later, the three vampires disappeared when a van blocked Justin's view.
"Cassandra Victor." Justin's hands clenched into fists.
Still fresh in his head is the incident where his parents lost the battle between vampire hunters and vampire Hexa a few years ago. The Victors were too strong, so in a short time, they managed to kill Jordan and Peyton Leonidas.
Maybe that incident was on Justin's list of reasons to hunt down The Victors and kill them. But as he had learned from Jordan too, he should not be rash in taking action. The desire for revenge can kill the instincts of a vampire hunter.
