Taehyun's pov

"You serious?" I have a feeling it's just a joke but why do I want it to be true so bad?

"Of course not." She giggled and took a sip of the canned drink. Interesting how her smile never reached her eyes and the faint glow of the solar camping light caught it.

"I'm surprised that you're actually shocked at the fact that you're gonna get ditched at your first night." I tried to make my statement sound light like how she delivered her joke but apparently, I just made things worse.

"You're treading on a thin ice here."

I took a deep sigh and explained before she gets more upset.

"I mean your husband was possibly been tortured by his stalker more than what we know and not too long ago. Absolutely no one can forget that kind of experience that easily."

Our eyes met and I instantly saw regret.

"You're right." She took a deep breath and stood up. "Thanks for telling me how much of an idiot I am."

"Now that you look alive again you should go back before they wake up and shoot me."

"Nah."

I got confused. "Don't tell me you plan to sleep here?"

"Not really." She simply replied then handed the cola onto my hand. "I want to take the opportunity to explore the surroundings since I won't be allowed to leave again once I return."

"I guess you have a point but there's literally nothing around here." She tried to take the wheel from my hands but I was quick to rotate it towards the right.

The speedboat swayed a bit. She lost her balance and nearly fell over me. Luckily, she managed to grab ahold of the seat to prevent our faces from slamming against each other.

"Alright I get it. Do as you please." I sighed in frustration and a wide grin formed on her pretty face.

I helped manually row the boat to a safe distance using a long and sturdy stick before starting the noisy engine. She then lead the way towards the north, further away from their yacht.

Not long after, we ended up watching several dolphins swimming along next to our vessel and I can't stop staring at her gleaming smile. The moonlight shining down on her makes those reactions look even more mesmerizing.

She decided to slow down so I offered her a few pieces of fresh fishes I caught earlier due to boredom to feed the mammals.

Some of them squealed in delight and she matched the energy by putting her hand out for the dolphins to rub their snout on.

Witnessing this side of her makes me feel like I just hit a jackpot.

Who would've thought the girl who most likely have lived her life full of lies and deceit, probably innocence completely ruined is enjoying this experience like a five year old kid.

"Hey Taehyun, can you hold the wheel for me?"

She gave me that unexpected puppy eyes so I can only nod in agreement. I got shocked when she suddenly undressed herself and threw the shirt into my face.

"H-hey!" I called but she's already underneath the water. "Cass…?"

A minute has passed yet she still hasn't resurfaced so I decided to pick my 200-lumen tactical flashlight up to illuminate a large and long perimeter.

If worse comes to worst, I have to jump in and attempt to find her in this endless body of water.

"Woah!"

I nearly jumped into the water when a dolphin took a leap from behind and splashed water against me as soon as it hit the sea waves. The boat swayed back and forth from the impact which caught me off guard, however, it's not enough to cause panic.

"Hahaha!" I pointed the flashlight towards the crispy laugh coming from a few meters away, south of the boat.

The same dolphin raised her up by slipping itself below her and in return, she caressed it's snout.

It was all fun and games for awhile, until it started moving towards the western side, deeper to the sea.

I had a bad feeling so I used the binoculars to check their location and quickly followed the direction the group of mammals are going for.

A cargo ship of some sort.

Judging by the distance I highly doubt Cass could withstand the speed and temperature, not to mention the possibility of getting thrown off.
